Last week, I test rode a 2017 Road Glide. Cruise control work great. I swore that I saw a gear indicator (someone tell me if I was dreaming on this). I had the dealer put the CB on as part of the deal (yes, my group still uses CB and it is the most reliable communication to date for multiple riders). I picked it up right at closing (yeah, we won't go down that road). Any way, salesman was going through the bike with me and I notice the PTT button wasn't on it. I asked him "How do I transmit?" He said "Good question". He'll need to investigate that tomorrow. Everything else concerning the CB is on it. While riding it home, I couldn't get the cruise control to come on. I pushed on the button, held the button in, held it up, held it down, nothing. Read somewhere if the brake lights are on, it won't work. Brake lights function. No gear indicator.....again, I swore it was showing last week during the test ride. Got to bring that up as well tomorrow.

Wonder if maybe flashing for the CB had to do with any of these missing issues, minus the PTT button.

Oh yeah.............they can't find the freakin' keys to it!

Starting to get buyers remorse.

Gear indicator is in the speedometer you are not mistaken. My guess is the clutch switch. If you pull clutch in the indicator goes out as the ecm is giving the gear according to speed and engine rpm not actual gear selection. Hope this helps. As far as cb operation I cannot help there.

Also would assume the cruise not functioning would be result as well. If you push in the light on speedometer should light up orange. Then pushing cruise switch down should then set the speed and turn indicator light to green.

Mine definitely has a gear indicator.

What side is your cruise button showing on? I believe there were folks that were upset that the cruise button was moved to the left while the PTT was on the right. Many folks had them swapped around by the dealer to be like they were used to. Perhaps your cruise and PTT buttons were swapped back.

The problem is that I don’t even have the PTT button at all.

Rereading your post if they added the cb the factory controls on a special or custom would not have the ptt button would be a blank space. If you have to upgrade the whole switch pack put on the lighted controls. They are nice at night.

I talked to the Service Department today. The Tech told me that I didn't need that PTT button because I can operate it with the left Command button. I about lost my cookies after he said that. I got an appointment on Friday to take it in for them to fix the cruise control and gear indicator. He said he'll show me how to use it.

I'm like OK...……..I can't wait for this fail.

I had an appointment yesterday about my PTT button, Cruise Control and gear indicator. Come to find out that the PTT was in the process of being put on, but when they opened the box, a different part number was in it. Nobody could tell me why this wasn't communicated to the salesman before he gave me a call to pick it up. The cruise control and gear indicator are fixed. I was at the dealer for about 2 hours. There was a lot of apologizing to me going.

I see this issue at my dealership. Total lack of communication. And its because they have an "Us against Them" environment. Nothing is going to change until they work together.

Yep. They don't always work together well. Service, Parts, Sales, Clothing... Often, even though under the same roof, act as different businesses...
