Yup the lights still on but the display comes and goes. Radio and all its function still work so it really doesnt bother me cuz when it quits altogether im gonna go with an aftermarket head unit. I just cant justify replacing it yet since it still works
Mine did it and I really didn't worry about till one afternoon I couldn't change volume channel or switch media . I turned the speaker switch to headphones drove to the dealership they said it would take a week but took two .
Mine cut out a few years ago, too. Sent it to Iron Cross Audio in North Jersey. They fixed the display and reflashed the head unit to the latest version. $250 I believe. Very quick turn-around. Have not had a problem since.
Here's a link to the fix. Its easy and free. You can try a software update. That sometimes works. It didn't for me. I did this and it worked perfectly for 2 years until I traded it for my current bike.

Can’t wait for it to come in so I can install it.

Extracted the file
Copied it to thumb drive
Put bike in accessory position
Plugged in to USB port
the only thing that happens is the radio...
I’m rebuilding my ‘13 FLTRX after a bad wreck last October, and would like to install a Sony AX7000 in it. I have a new aftermarket fairing, Mutazu DDIN adapter bucket, and the AX7000 head unit. Cutting the fairing and installing/bonding the bucket will be easy for me, but what about the radio...
I just picked up a 2019 special. I. Going to take my RF silver 4 channel out of my 2013 and use that. I guess I need the RF bracket? When I did my 2013 I got a bracket from someone on here for that.
And now for speakers and all this other stuff about flashing the radio, line levelers etc...
