What is a DSR1 Rockford Fosgate processor and what is its intention?
What does it do?
Does it help alleviate recommended 'flashing' after an audio upgrade?

thank you,

John, from The Rockford Fosgate website, "Co-developed with ADS, the DSR1 combines a full-featured 3Sixty digital signal processor with a flashable iDatalink Maestro integration module.
The DSR1 can be used out-of-the-box with high or low level input, or with a quick flash download to add vehicle specific firmware to enable integration without the loss of factory equipped controls and features.

Hey Mike,
So when you say a full-featured 360 DSP with a flashable idatalink maestro integration module, can this be used with Harley Davidson motorcycles as well?

John according to the RF website the DSR1 can be used on a Harley without a Flash from the MOCO.
I believe the DSR1 lets you adjust the stereo system with an App.
Hope this helps.

MOCO interpretation

Whats up Mike,
GOTCHA!
Thank you for your help in clarifying that!

I must tell you that I did go ahead and purchase the Rockford Fosgate 'DSR-1' just now, and I'm assuming I'm still going to need a flash?, or not?...hmmmm?...hence lies my confusion?
I'm in the process of building my system
I'm working on a set of 6.5'' inch's
with a Diamond amp

I spoke to roadie13 today and he helped me out Bigtime!
I told him I was gonna purchase the Biketronics BT355 Line-Leveler to help me convert the hi level input to the low level 'RCA' capability but I got a steal on the RF 'DSR-1' for $225 + $15 bucks in tax = $240 so I got it.
I couldn't resist because the more I read up on the 'DSR-1 the more happier people are with this processor.

But, now this brings up a couple of questions I have!....

Firstly,
I'm wondering should I still get the 'Harley' 'ultra' flash (0 amp/4 speakers) with the RF 'DSR-1' alongside the processor purchase and since I purchased a Rock Fos item, am I only confined to a RF 'flash' only or can I do 'ANY' type of flash, including the (0amp/4speaker) dealer 'ULTRA flash' as well?

And, Secondly,
Would I need to purchase a 'BT355' line-leveler in addition to the RF 'DSR-1' or will ,An 'Ultra' flash with the Rockford Fosgate 'DSR-1' do the the job as a stand alone product only?

Thanks

With the DSR1 you won’t need the line leveler, but will need a way to get low level inputs to the DSR1, it may or may not come with wiring to accomplish that. What flash (if any) does Rockford recommend for use with the DSR1?

Dsr1

Hey (roadie13)
How are you?
Ty so much for all of your audio intel today.
I wanted to run by a couple of things , seeing what you think cause I value your expertise, not to mention your opinion.

Again, ty for everything today
I couldnt have cleared this confusion that has been raddling in my head since June 2018 purchase of my RG standard (it says custom on the certificate of authenticity though, hmmmm?)

I must tell you that I did go ahead and purchase the Rockford Fosgate 'DSR-1' just now, and I'm assuming I'm still going to need a flash?, or not?...hmmmm?...hence lies my confusion?
I'm in the process of building my system as you know
And Ill be working on a set of 6.5'' inch's PRO Mille's co-ax's
with a Diamond ampMicro4v2 600 watt (bridged at 300 watts x 2)

Remember how you mentioned to go with the purchase of the Biketronics BT355 Line-Leveler to help me convert the hi level input to the low level 'RCA' capability but I got a steal on the RF 'DSR-1' for $225 + $15 bucks in tax = $240 so I got it.

Reason being, because the more I read up on the 'DSR-1 the more happier people are with this processor.

(0 amp/4 speaker) 'Ultra' flash as well by the dealer or any auto audio sound store.

And, Secondly,
Would I need to purchase a 'BT355' line-leveler in addition to the RF 'DSR-1' OR will the 'DSR-1' act fine alone as a stand alone product with the BT-355?
In other words, its either 1 or the other but definetly get a flash also!?..Im assuming, to help reach the kit's optimal audio signal response and output!!
(I'm thinking probably not because all a BT-355 does is convert the cable connections and acts like a tiny magic box for the 24 db EQ signal which probably fails in comparison to the 'DSR-1' processor (not that I'm knocking the BT-355 in any way!)

Thanks

Hey John you’re very welcome.
I think, like roadie13said, the DSR1 is fine all by itself.
If you already purchased it I would wait until it arrives and read all the instructions to make sure. I also believe that RF would have an assistance phone number to call if needed.
If you need any further assistance just let us know.
Best of Luck and keep us posted on how you make out.

You won’t need the line leveler but will need a way to connect the radio to the DSR1. Call RF and see what they say about the flash, I don’t know enough about them to say what works best.
