Customer bike that I was finally able to finish.
2013 FLHX 103. Now it’s a 117 with flowed heads, HPI 58mm TB, 5.3 inj, high flow AC, SE585 cams and a Bassani full length 2-into-1

I have never made this much torque with a Twin Cam before. Surprised the hell out of me. Lol

Keep spare compensators in stock for this guy. lol

I am not familiar with back cutting transmission gears. What does it do and why would it be necessary? @crazy4ink What do you think? Will the Heritage need it?
Basically beveling the gear ends so they drop into gear easier for more positive engagement. The higher hp engines have much more force, when shifting hard they don't always fully engage and can break teeth of the gear.

I have heard of M8s breaking third gear. I personally haven’t seen one that broke the teeth off but other techs have. I think it comes down to how you treat the bike, how you maintain the bike and just dumb luck of a poor hardened gear. If you’re street light racing and slamming into gear all the time, sure the money spent on back cutting the trans would be well spent. For your Heritage, I don’t think you need to spend the money

For those asking; this is brand new, completely stock 2024 CVO RGST. I did Track mode and Sport mode. Both had traction control turned off and both pulled until it hit the limiter.

Customer brought me his Apex RKS that he tried to do his own cam install on. Cam bearing grenaded during install and went in the case. That’s when it came to me. Had to pull the case, split it and clean it. He decided while it was apart to make it a 128” with Wood 22XD cam, 64mm TB, 5.5 injectors, Fuelmoto headpipe and BMF air filter and Khromewerks mufflers. I put a louvered baffle in the right side only to combat the lower rpm torque dip.

Tuning a bike that is very similar to what I’m putting in @08Zinc ’s Heritage

132” kit
Stock heads with high lift springs
64mm TB, Tim has SE this guy has HPI
AC, Tim has stock ventilator this guy has Trask
2-1, Tim has Bassani, this guy has HPI
Reaper 521 cam
5.5 injectors

I notice lots of 5.5 inj with just a cam

would I get more tune with 5.5 and my 468 cam ? Never had it dyno tuned just fuel moto tune
You don’t NEED 5.5s with just a cam but upgrading them can’t hurt. If we have a customer that wants the upgraded aluminum manifold, I suggest upgrading the injectors and most people agree to it. I would also recommend a dyno tune. If you look back a handful of posts in this thread, you’ll see where I posted a canned tune and how lean it was.

I know I cannot wait. Unfortunately the weather has postponed my trip. So it’s going to be a few weeks.

John sorry to hear the weather isn’t cooperating with You. Been crazy here in NY as well Bro.
Hang in there cause nicer weather is better riding in for sure.

I’ve been watching the weather between here and Ohio and was wondering if you were still riding down…….
You seen that storm goes from Texas on up my entire ride would be in it. Even looked at heading straight down to Alabama and coming over. Or straight across to Illinois and then down. Rain.
