I do not like tour packs, my opinion is that they ruin the lines of the bike. However, they are functional, especially for long trips. I wanted something that I could easily attach and remove, and not spend a lot of money on. As advised by others on this forum, this is the ticket! This is really nothing new, but I was so impressed with the results that I had to share. Total cost, $119.00

$55.00 for the tour pack and bolt on luggage rack, that goes on top, delivered from eBay. I am very impressed with the paint on this thing.
$60.00 for the quick detach luggage rack, delivered from eBay
$4.00 for 1/4" stainless bolts, washers and Nylock nuts at Lowes.

The first two pics show what you get. More pics to follow.

Slight price increase.

Quick detach rack:

Detachable Two-up Tour Pak Pack Mount Luggage Rack For Harley Touring 2014-2017 | eBay

Tour pack with bolt on luggage rack:

Black Tour Trunk Pack For Harley Softail Dyna Electra Glide Road King Touring | eBay

You will need four 1 1/4" long 1/4" stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers. Four fender washers included with Tour Pack. The other hardware is useless, except for the bolts that attach the luggage rack on top of the tour pack. For extra strength, I put steel straps between the fender washers on the inside of the tour pack, nuts and small washers on underside of the quick detach. Everything between plastic and metal is padded with old inner tubes.

I believe it fits but putting in the model of bike on the order sheet says this won't fit a Road Glide.

One last question.....
Do you have to install the luggage rack? Im guessing it has pre-drilled holes for it so you pretty much have to.....
Id prefer a luggage rack-less look but not a deal breaker I guess.

A few extra answers for y'all...

The tour pack comes with the luggage rack NOT installed: no holes drilled. So, if you don't like the luggage rack look, you're in luck!

I found the mounting hardware to be a very good assortment. It worked perfectly for me. The only change I made was to replace the four nuts with nyloc nuts.

The listing text makes it quite clear that this is a generic, "universal fit" item, that is NOT just for HD touring models. And that's why there is an "assortment" of mounting hardware, including top and bottom bracket-ey things to mount it to a generic luggage rack.

For a standard HD tour pack mounting plate, two of the four holes in the base are close enough that all I had to do was take a small round file and keyhole those two holes by 1/8" or so. For the other two holes I drilled new ones. A drill goes through the ABS like butter. Easy-peasy.

Bottom line for me: Just like the OP, I hate the tour pack look. Too big, too fat, hangs over the ass end of the bike, and too top heavy. One of the main reasons I liked this one is because it's a little smaller than a stock King tour pack. My intention was to buy this el-cheapo version, use it for Run For The Wall in May, and then toss it in the garbage when I got home. It looks so good, particularly the gloss black finish, that I'm going to leave it on.

For $58, it's mind-boggling.

Seems to be many more under different sellers and/or targeted to other bikes...
They all look the same and a few with different back rest cushions...

Yup, a lot of the listings show motorcycle brands other than Harley, so they won't be hard to find.

And, for a bit more money, you can get a copy of a chopped tour pack for around $200, and a full size for around $250. Not all come with the luggage rack, though.

Still plenty out there!

Aw, c'mon.....All those cheapo plastic boxes all come from the same supplier anyway and they just slap a bunch of different names/applications on them....

How about "evo-el-cheapo box?"

Fit my '17 just fine, as seen in pics. No difference in the docking hardware '16-'17.
