Rode to work today and when I went to leave tonight the problem started. Turned the ignition and everything lit up and fuel pump kicked on. I hit the start switch and the motor made a partial rotation and then everything went dark. No power or lights. Checked fuses and everything appeared good. My Wards fans still come on so the battery has juice.

My guess is the regulator. Any other thoughts.

Corroded or loose battery cables would be the first thing I'd check. How old is your battery? If its old, its possible it took a dump on you, but start with the cables first.
I understand you're getting power, but you still can with a loose cable.

Agree it sounds like bad battery connections. It would have enough connection to power basic functions but not a good enough connection to supply the required amps to Crank the engine so then everything goes dead. Can be power or ground side as well as loose connection to frame or at the other end of main positive cable. And could be just a bad battery...

Connections to the battery appear good. Just pushed it up into the warehouse and plugged it into the trickle charger. Will see what happens. Battery is only 2-years old so I do not believe it is bad, but will check it when I get it home. I generally keep it plugged into the trickle charger, but as of late have not since I have been riding often. Maybe the stator or regulator are not charging the battery while running and it finally ran out of enough juice to power up. Like I said before the battery wasn't dead dead cause the Wards fans powered on. Will report back later
