I should know the answer to this but I thought I would throw this out here for the masses
I have a 2008 Glide and I am not a fan of the electronic throttle
There is lag in the throttle and when I am rolling through corners at speed it is as smooth as it should/could? be
This is my 6th Harley and i have owned it since it was new
All my other bikes were cable
What is the solution ,is there a adjustment or can I go back to cable ?
I have done zero checking on this and am starting today

i have a 2010 RG and use to have an 07 RG. The 07 was much more responsive at the throttle than the 10. The lag you are noticing is build into the computer programing and can be adjusted out by the dealer but it will require the installation of the tuner. The lag is built in due to several reasons i have been told but according to a reputable indy i know it is primarily to prevent the crank from shifting. I had the dealer adjust mine out and most of it is gone however i still notice it a bit during takeoff especially on a up hill grade and in cornering. I do not know if you can go back to cable but i am currently investigating the possibility. I really like the new frame but the TBW suks big time.

my .02 cents

been a long day dude. Sorry, crank shaft runout is the correct term.

Since the MOCO came out with their new design in crankshafts(press fit cranks) instead of keyed or pinned, there have been some bikes with excessive crank run out with very low miles on them. Some of the symptoms in the more severe cases are vibrations in the engine far worse than normal.
This causes problems because of the run out on the shaft damaging oil pumps and more. The MOCO has replaced complete engines in some cases to eliminate this problem under warranty.

the short version is the lag is build in to try to impact this issue. :D

I have an '06 and an '10 and I much prefer the '06 throttle. My experience is the new throttle, along with the new suspension, is way too responsive. There is no give in the suspension and no give in the throttle, so a small bump activates the throttle. I am getting used to the throttle, but I have to find a way to tone down the suspension. The combination isn't working for me. I have a stage 4 103" kit on the way and I am concerned I'll end up on my ass watching the bike roll down the road without me.

Abone, are you being sarcastic about the suspension? What do you mean tone down the suspension? I went from a 07SG to the 10RG, and am pleased as punch with the suspension. Being able to get into the corners with more stability is AWESOME!!! Just gotta make sure you ain't goin into them too hot, but overall, I think it's awesome. My only complaint so far with the suspension is air loss in the shocks. Pressure goes down, and we hit bottom every now and again. I am just more concious about pre-ride checks.

No I am not being sarcastic. I'm not referring to the handling, rather the shocks as you pointed out. I am finding the shocks pretty hard, and have adjusted them twice. With the active throttle it is pretty touchy. I have a buddy with an '09 and he finds the same thing. It is getting better as I get used to it, and only have 500 km's on the bike, but it is an adjustment just the same. I was in Denver recently and rented an '10 and it was better, so I think I need to find the sweet spot for shock adjustment.

Sorry if my comment came off wrong abone. I honestly thought you might have been kidding around. Hopefully you have had some ride time to get it figured out. I would have liked to have gotten out this week-end, but no such luck. Rainy week-end. The good thing is I got my passenger highway pegs, and HD mid-frame heat shields on, and the lowers off. I may have wind issues, but what the hell, it's a motorcycle. When I return from my road trip, I will probably re-install with the aftermarket vents. We'll see.
