All, I need a little help. To preface this, I am by no means a gear head. I have a buddy who's bike will not crank. The lights turn on but when you try and turn it over it just clicks. It is an '08 sportster. Thanks in advance.
If it were me in the same situation, I would clean the battery terminals with a wire brush, give it a shot, if it did the same thing, hook a battery tender or an actucal battery charger and try that. If it starts, great. If not, start checking solenoids, relays, fuses, etc.
I agree. Check both battery terminals tomake sure the are clean and tight. Check the negative ground to the frame make sure that is clean and tight. Put battery on a charger untill it has full charge. If that does not fix your problem look to the starter/selenoid.
Battery would be my guess. Like everyone else check the connections 1st.. With these new bikes and all the electronics when the battery goes they do weird things.
