For anyone who has installed extended saddlebags on a FLTRX Road Glide custom. I have a 2012 FLTRX that has a saddlebag support under the OEM saddlebag. Did you remove the part or replace it with something similar to support the saddlebag?

It stays on, you still have to support the saddlebags.

You guys are terrible(now say it like Charles Barkley...) to the newbies! Lol

Extended bags don't change anything except the look. The outside and back edges are the only part that is longer. Everything else is stock so it sits right on the rubber pads for your support brackets just like the stock bags do. You could use the little space created by the bag extension but most companies either carpet over it or put in a filler piece to cover the channel.
