Had one on my '07 RG for several years and got so used to it that I wondered for a second what was "wrong" with my '15 RGS on that first ride. I looked for one in vain until I got an ad from Kuryakin the other day with their new items for 2016 that fit 15+ touring frames which included an extended brake pedal. Naturally, I jumped on that. It was supposed to be a simple bolt-on. Close. It interfered with the exhaust at one angle and the crash bar the other way. Looked like an exhaust or bar removal for a second but there was just enough room (with a few closed-fist thumps) to get it past the exhaust pipe with the shroud unfastened and twisted out of the way. That's the way to go if you encounter that sort of tight fit. Otherwise, a piece of cake. Unlike the OEM, it has a grease zerk, too. Offered in black as well, as I recall.

The pedal is robustly built, nicely chromed and works as advertised. I hate driving around with my foot under the brake pad and this relieves the confinement of that set up. I am a modest 5'11" and don't know what the truly tall do with that cramped stock set up.

Just to let those of you who may be interested know that it's now available and what minor trouble you may encounter mounting it. 5 stars for comfort and we'll knock off half a star for the five or ten minute interference dance on the ease of installation score.

I installed the forward pans on my 15 and it makes the problem worse I have to turn my foot out to get on the brake, I perchance the extended brake lever from HD and it was the same length I have to take a look them. It's hard to get used to coming from a wide glide

Yep, right you are, I see them now. I did what I thought was a pretty thorough web search about 3 mos or so ago and visited their site, among others, and zippo for the 14+ touring frames. The R&D timeline for the aftermarket crowd must be pretty similar then. I thought Kuryakin was first. Nonetheless, it's still half the price. Did you have any trouble worming it in there?

I just searched the HD P&A site and they carry no extended brake pedals for my '15 RGS or any of the tourers from '14 up that I checked. The other, non-OEM sites specify with or without fairing lowers, so shop carefully. I appreciate your position - under the pedal and boxed in by the lowers. I use soft lowers during our short winter so it's not much of a problem and FWIW to others, the regular, no-lowers pedal works there. BTW, the Kuryakin model is only a hundred clams.

Frankly, I think that the extended/lowered reach ought to be the mfr's default with the current OEM length (IMO, too short for most) as an option for our brethren requiring/desiring less reach. My thinking is that if your feet can reach the ground while upright, you'll have more than enough reach to get to the brake pedal. So much in fact that you have to go toe-under to fully ground on the floorboard.

What is different on the 15' RG brake pedal? It is the same frame as the 09'-13' and when I looked on the Kuryakyn website, the pic for the 09'-13' black extended brake pedal were the same as the 15'-16' model pic. The reason I ask is that you should have been able to use an extended brake pedal from the previous years. Just curious that's all...

Yeah, looked at Soft brake, too. Nada - back a couple mos ago, anyway. I guess they're all hitting the market about the same time now. Because they are new, I think the mfrs are using file photos of the old ones. I don't know about shaft size (lame joke redacted) but the flange that accepts the brake plunger shaft clevis looks to be 70-75* to the pedal shaft on the older ones. On the new ones it is about 120* and the flange is bifurcated to support both ends of the clevis.

I'm no big fan of Kuryakin and I think most of their stuff is kind of cheesey, but the blind squirrel also eats from time to time. Still cheapest at a c-note and well made, nice looking, etc. I just wanted to alert those interested that they're available - whatever brand one might fancy. I just appreciate the use of the full floorboard again.

Thanks for the heads up on the EZbrake levers I have to do something about the position of the lever, it,s uncomfortable and if you had to make a panic stop your foot could get cough under the pedal thanks guys

Thanks for the photo Ohio it looks way more comfortable than the stock lever on my RG. My lever comes over the pan in the same area but comes up about four inches, not a good design,thanks again.

Which one did you go with? The offer pedals for both with and w/o lowers? Any chance you have a picture to go with it?
