I called Factory 47 today to get some information on the 14" Malo bars, spoke to a Charles who answered all my questions, told me how long the back order was & that I would also need to order +6" cables to complete my install. Very helpful, Thanks Factory 47. I need to find someone to do the install now

OP has a 2012- so that is a bit different malo bar and application. The Malo made for the 2015/16 specifically can be installed without ext cables

I was looking at those bars too. I have a '16 Ultra. So you don't need to extend cables, but how tight are they? Is there plenty of slack for unimpeded control movement? Just want to know if it's better to so a small extension or is it totally unnecessary? Priority right now is my Stage 1.

They've advertised no need for ext in 14" bars or less on the 2015/16s. So I'm sure they're not necessary. Give them a call and ask them about your application and what they suggest.

Im expecting my 14 inch Malo's this week end for my 2016 RGU and I'm not buying any extensions. They should go right on, hopefully!

Took us 2 hrs and 15 mins to install the bars without buying extensions. I did have to reroute (very minor) the clutch and brake cable a little so they would reach correctly. Wasn't a big deal.

But aren't those the bars they advertise can be installed using the factory wiring ? (without having to add length) ...
That is for 2015/2016 model years... just did my 14" Malos last week. Piece of cake. I did opt for 4" extensions just to save time of ripping out the plastic holder, plus I had them on the shelf anyway... LOVE the increased comfort!!! UNREAL!!!!

If your bike is a 12 I doubt you need a + 6 on the brake. maybe the clutch cable you do to keep it in factory position.
I just put on 12 inch Malos on my 12 RGU and just had to reroute the clutch cable and the brake line fit with just cutting a zip tie and moving it barely. I would check with others with a 12 RG that but on the 14 inch Malo and see what length they used.
I did buy wire extensions just so I could keep the plugs in the original spot. and damn good thing I did when I opened up the fairing what a mess the dealer left when installing custom gages and an amp..
I would have never got the fairing back on it I had to lower the 3 plugs 10 inches.
