Is anyone else noticing that your inner fairing is starting to fade? My is and it is starting to look like crap. Is there a cure?

I use a Mequiars product called Natural Shine Protectant Wipes...they are non greasy and have UV blockers. The package says its for vinyl, plastic & rubber.

When I had a Jeep I put armorall on the fender flares and that made them fade. I've never used it since then and I never will. Anytime I see a Jeep with white fender flares I know they used some sort of "protectorant". I think the same thing might be happening to your glide. Just my .02 cents.

I've never put anything on it at all. I could see fading if I lived in AZ or another sun state but not here.
GR8FLH where would I find the 303 Aerospace protectant? I've seen the Back to Black before but does it streak?
Nakedsnowman I like the cycleshade thanks.
MYFLTRX my other ride is a Jeep!

I've only had my 2010 for 6 months and noticed this weekend that the inner fairing was looking a little faded. Keep us posted on what you try and the results.

check out the website for more details of the 303 Aerospace protectant. The website also has a retailer locator, so you just type in your zip code and they will tell you where to buy it.
i cant tell you any names of the big box stores that carry it, because I buy it at a local store called Paul's discount. It works on everything. i bought it for the dash, and Tonneau cover of my truck, but use it on my inner fairing too and it really brings the black back out, and keeps dust from settling.
Never, ever use Armorall!!!

303 is expensive, and hard too find, but as always, you get what you pay for (generally).

It lasts a long time and is so far superior to any Armourall product that once you try it, you'll never go back. I have couple of 8-10 year old bottles of armour all that I should toss out, but never have. Too cheap to just throw them away.

Well I end up using Mothers Back to Black and I have mixed feelings on it. It did turn the faded areas darker but it looks kind of blotchy. I'm hoping a couple more applications will help it. Won't know till then.

I wonder if the fading is covered under warranty within the first 2 years? Anybody tried to get it replaced in this manor?
I just complained to my dealer about the inner fairing fading (at 18 months into ownership, 29k miles) and was told "it's a known issue, bring it in on a nice sunny day so we can get some good pictures of the fading and we'll submit it to the MOCO under your warranty." (I have the extended warranty too.)

Same service writer said it would be no problem for them to replace it over the winter (if I leave it in storage with them) and that they'll send it out for paint at no extra charge for me, since the MOCO won't require the faded one back for proof of the warranty issue.

Now, if this all comes out the way he said, I'm going to be one happy camper.

I'm going to keep riding until at least the first week in December, so we'll find out then what actually happens.

Good luck with that! I fought and fought to get mine replaced when it was brand new and peeling. And they have to send it back it.

I read on another forum where they replaced it under warranty.

It would be nice to have a new one and get the old one painted.
