I just completed the audio upgrade,on my 07, and the system sounds good but I'm having a little difficulty with putting the outer fairing back on. I read about guys taking the head lights out and started that but I'm not sure if the black trim ring around the lights just pop off or is there another secret to getting the fairing back on. Thanks for the help.

There are 4 tabs that you have to unlock with a flat blade screwdriver and it pops right out. You can see them very easy with the fairing off. I'll see if I can find some pics to post for you.

There's lots of videos and instructions about putting the fairing on. I'm not sure where I saw it and have no idea how to post a link. I was scared the first time but the videos were helpful and made it super easy. Good luck take your time and make sure it straight before putting any screws in.

There is absolutely no need to pull the headlights on your 07 to put the outer fairing back on. It is a simple proceedure no matter what year bike you have, after you plug in the headlights put the fairing on the front of the bike, as you look at the top edge of the fairing you will line up the LINES of the inner fairing and the LINES of the outer fairing. These lines are obvious along the top edge of both fairings once you line up the two fairings lift the outer fairing slightly and push in and then push down. If you did this correctly the outer fairing will be supported on the support hooks and then the rest is a piece of cake .

You really dont need to remove the headlamp it just adds work. Take your time and as previously posted , line up the top and slightly lift and push it on the hooks and then let the fairing hang off the support hooks and you are done.

Finally finished.....you guys were right it's not that bad as long as your bracket for the amp has a hole in it for the headlight bolt. I had to take the headlight out to figure it out but it finally clicked and I finished the job. Thanks to all in the forum, this site gives me the confidence to do things on my own. It really helps to talk to guys who already have done the things you want to do.
