This action is against Harley Davidson and Westinghouse for illegally restricting customers right to repair.
Harley Davidson and Westinghouse were imposing warranty terms that voided customers warranties if they use anyone other than the companies and their authorized dealers to get parts or the repairs for their products.
The FTC also alleged that Harley Davidson failed to fully disclose all the terms of the warranty in a single document, requiring customers to contact an authorized dealership for full details.
The FTC alleges that these terms harm the consumers and competition in multiple ways including

Restricting consumers choices
Costing consumers more money
Undercutting independent dealers
Recognize consumer's right to repair

The tools the FTC are using are
The FTC act and warranty act
Magnuson Moss warranty act

I just highlighted a few items there is more on the FTC web site if you want to read the entire article.

Sorry but I went back the last 24 hours before I posted this and I didn't see that post.
I must have missed it.
