Wanted to take a moment to say hello. I new here. Not to forums in general, but to the RoadGlide.org. From time to time I have stopped in to peruse photos and read a little. I am not new to Harleys, but have never owned a new one.

After 10 years of waiting to buy my dream bike, my wife decided to surprise me with a birthday present. She bought me a 2016 Road Glide Special. On my birthday, she presented me with a card, and basically said, "pick the color, I know this is something you have waited for." By weeks end, we had visited the dealer, picked the color and made the deal. I don't think i could be happier. All three of my children were very excited for me, along with my wife, and they couldn't wait for a ride. My youngest is very exciting about cruising with dad. My oldest, is a son, he immediately figured that my 76 hardtail bobber that I built would have to have a new owner. He is proudly standing in line waiting for the keys.

I have had a long love of the Road Glide and had no doubts that this is the bike I would own. When I saw the 2015s first come out, I didn't know if I could wait for another year to buy one. This past year was pretty hard, visiting the dealerships and jonesing to ride out on a new bike. In the end it was worth the wait, plus I got a color I love. I really wanted the Special and really wanted red. Glad that Harley made the decision to go with a red in 2016.

I cannot speak more highly of the sales team, parts team, and service team at my dealership. Hannum's Harley Davidson of Sellersville, PA did a fantastic job throughout the whole process! When you have waited this long to make the purchase, the purchase process is just as important as the bike.

I greatly look forward to putting the miles on this bike in the years to come.

Thanks guys.

Welcome from Florida Enjoy your new ride Did your son get the "bobber"?
Not yet. The daughter on the bike in the picture was quick to step in line and voice interest too. She is a bit of a wild child. The boy is still a couple of years away from driving. He has ridden dirt bikes since 3yo. It is only a matter of time. We used to ride together in the neighborhood when he was smaller. I would ride my old Harley around and he would follow me on his little CRF50. I know he, and I, are itching for the day we will be able to ride together.
