I hope that they do end up working for you though.
Thanks!

Yeah I tried the XL in person at the store and it felt good but only bc it was so big. That's when she told me they run big and I tried the L on and it fit more similar to my shoei. But I'm sure those have had a ton of people try them on so they're broken in

We'll see, I'm still hopeful

The ghost bandit was only 120 bucks so I'll keep it either way I'm sure even if just as an emergency spare.

“They” say this one fits different from that and so on, but I have 3 different styles of Simpson helmets and they are all the same size. Now…..I’m not gonna say the Mods didn’t make my ears hurt like a MoFo……cuase they did. I have speakers in mine so I had to do a little foam smashing here and there to get it to stop…..had to do it to both of them. But they don’t make the top of my head hurt, I can wear it all day, the shields are VERY easy to swap out, AND the look super dope. So I was cool with massaging the foam around the ears.

I got my Ghost Bandit today in XXL. Fits exactly like my Shoei Neotech 2. I compared both sizing charts before I ordered and they were the same for XXL. So far I love it. Light as a feather. At first I thought it was too tight but I took it off and put it back on and wore it around the house for a few and I guess I got use to it. Went for a short ride and I really like it. Fit will probably get better as I break it in. Only negative is the ear fold down but all helmets seem to do this to me. On my Shoei I can push them up easily with the face up but its a lot harder with the Ghost.

Well my mod bandit and ghost bandit arrived yesterday. I'm on the fence. The mod bandit fits a little tight, much more so than the one I tried in person at their store. Ghost bandit seems to fold upper part of my ear or some sort of weird pressure on my ear. Like it's caught in something

I'll wear both around the house over the weekend and see if they fit any better, if not, back they go

I do like the gloves so far. Wore them to work today and really like how low profile they are compared to any glove I've worn previously
You might have to wear a skullcap to keep your ears from folding. I have to put my fingers in some helmets to reposition my ears and then I am OK.

With the mod bandit I kind of go in face first and then position the helmet works well without having to remove the glasses.

I just received a Mod-Bandit, size Large. I thought it would be tight, however, it is not; almost a bit loose. Maybe I could get different cheek pads?

One thing I do not like about this modular - if the shield is up, you cannot open the front face; that kinda sucks. I know other modulars do not have this issue.

I do it all the time. Something not right if you can’t.

This is about as far as it'll go. Maybe it can be forced but being I'm returning I certainly don't wanna risk breaking it or scratching the paint

Or maybe it's just stiff bc it's new?

I've never had any issues like that with mine. Not even when new. The lock isn't engaged is it? I guess it's not a big deal if you're sending it back, but I can confirm it's not normal. They have pretty awesome customer service, so if you were keeping it you could call and get it sorted out.

I don't think anything is engaged bc if you lower shield it will slide right on back. I previously assumed the shield was hitting the top of helmet but seems it's not, maybe more in the ratchet mechanism for the shield. Not completely sure, I just snapped that pic real quick before heading out this morning

I'm hoping I can return local. In which case I'll see if they have any liners I can swap out. But I'm doubtful as I bought from holley and I'm guessing I'll have to ship it back to them.

Slide the lock mechanism all the way in both directions. It looks to be more in the middle.

Check the lock switch mechanism and make sure it is fully in the unlock position. You can definitely get different size cheek pads, but I would verify with simpson on fit because helmets also have different shell sizes which means different EPS foam size.

On the different sized cheek pads...what size pads work with what size helmets? I have my old XXL that my son wants because he loves the Baymax sticker. It's way too big for him and didn't know if I could put large pads in there to make it fit.

I tried emailing Simpson, but I think my question is getting lost in translation with whomever was trying to help me.

It is the shell size that usually determines what you can change regarding internal pads.

Looks like the Mod Bandit has 2 shell sizes. XS-MD, LG-2XL only Simpson can answer if you can put MD pads in the larger shell.
