So my wife and I decided not to go to work on Friday, but rather enjoy the day out on the bike with some friends that were able to join us. We first rode to Appalachian Harley in Mechanicsburg and then headed to Dukes Restaurant/Bar out on the river near Harrisburg. After lunch we took the long way to Lewistown to a new Brewery that opened in March that I had been hearing great things about, Shy Bear Brewery. Shy Bear is owned/opened by the family that owns Rich Coast Coffee and is located on the same family property that they live on and Rich Coast is on, so good vibes here. Since we were full from our lunch we did not have any food here, however, the reports are that the food is excellent, not a large menu (and not bar food), but that's ok, less to confuse me with when making my choices. We did sample their beers, which were all really good. When we got there, mid afternoon, we were the only ones there (I mean everyone else was working and a few showed up while we were there), and the Brew Master came out to our table and chatted for a while about his beers and all. Anyway, he says he just opened up a batch of his brand new cream ale if we all wanted to give it a try, he would bring us all out a glass, not even on the menu yet, just wanted some opinions on it. Well, not wanting to upset him, we all tried it...WOW, was it good: crisp, light and smooth best describes it (and I am not a cream ale person, more of a porter/stout guy...which they also had and were quite good). Anyway, stayed for little over an hour there and headed home. We will be going back for sure to this place, and next time for food as well. Just a bit over 200 miles of fun for the day. Hope the pics come through....
