As part of my ongoing project with the ¨01 SERG, it was now time for the audio-system. Let me start with the fact that I'm not a pro and hardly an audiophile. But I wanted as much bang for my buck as possible.

The old CVO-setup was a RadioSound HU and Hogtunes (5.25) speakers. For the upgrade I got an Aquatic AQ-MP-5BT-H and J&M Performance (7.25) speakers. I didn't see any use for an amp with this basic set-up, fairing speakers only and the fact that the Aquatic comes with a built-in 288W – enough to drive 8 speakers.

I really liked the speaker-grills on the J&M with the high-output tweeter and mid-range drivers. Those alone made a huge improvement!

I've addes some photos for comparison!

Which J&M Speakers did you get? I have the Rokker XT series and I love them. I put them on the bike about 4 years ago. I have had a couple of minor issues with them over time, but I BLAST them all the time.

Each time there has been an issue, John at J&M has been fantastic about getting them resolved. I would buy their equipment again in a heartbeat, and I gladly recommend it to all my friends who are looking for an upgrade.

Hi Stick, I went with the J&M Performance 7.25" part# HRSK-7252GTM. I would have chosen the Rokker XX if my budget could afford it! :)
I really liked the fact that these speakers came with the J&M grill with tweeter/mid-range pod. With the Rokker I would have have to order these seperately and thus a grand total of US$ 400.00, whereas the kit I got costed me US$ 240.00.

That's a decent set. When I bought my ROKKER XT's, they came with the speaker grills including the Mid/Tweeters. But that was 4 years ago.

One thing you have to look forward to is excellent customer service if you ever have any issues with your speakers.

John at J&M is a sponsor here on the Road Glide forum and will do a lot to keep is customers loyal. I have had a few minor issues over the years with my equipment and he has stepped up every time.

Enjoy the new sounds and have fun riding.
