I just installed the Mayhem bars by KST. They are 1-1/4", but at the controls 1". I want to use my stock hand control for the brake because it's black, like the bars. When you mount it, the clamp section is on the 1" bar, but the fluid reservoir is over the 1-1/4" section. And it just doesn't work.
Besides going out and buying aftermarket controls, what does everyone else do in this situation? Break out the dremel? Grind out the back an 1/8" and repaint?

If I'm reading this right, and you have a Rushmore, then a set of clamps from any other touring model will fix your problem. If you have the older style 1"controls and trying to mount them on 1 1/4" bars, it's not going to work without some machining.

No I don't have a Rushmore. In my sig-2000 SERG. I went and dremeled the back out on the brake cylinder. Used one of those little 60 grit wheels. Painted it up, can't even tell.

Not sure about that anyway. I have the Factory 47 which are 1.5" and have the factory long clamps. It may be bar specific.

OP. Glad ya got it worked out. Any pics of them bars on the bike?

I don't have them set up yet. I went with black 10" rise bars. Then found that the upper brake line is too short, so I had to wait and order the complete upper and lower cause Harley's are one piece. My switch housing are chrome, but now I'm thinking wtf, black bars, chrome housings, eehhh. I still have the bars wrapped with foam pretty much. Now looking around for the stupid little plastic fork tool things that you pull the set- resume and ptt switch knobs off with. Thank God I have my Shovel to ride. Once I get them respectable, I'll post some pics.
