I'm having my fork lowers powder coated. So I took it all apart. I have 15k miles on the bike. My question is do I need to replace the fork seals and all the o rings per the service manual or is that written for the 50k service.

I know the 6mm bolts and crush washers have to be replaced. And I'm also gonna replace the quad ring seal.

Thanks

I did my fork seals but not the o-ring on the caps.... worth the few bucks over a potential leak.

NOTE.... when re-installing the seals use masking tape folded over the lip of fork tube to prevent damaging the seal... works great. even says so in the manual... hehehe.

You're in that far, replace em. A the others said, it's not worth risking a failure. Make sure you have something to drive them in with. A split piece of pvc pipe works well. (1.5" I think for your bike ). I just put monotubes on my '15 and my old pvc that I used on the 41mm forks wouldn't work. I ended up using the extension tube from my shop vac believe it or not, & it worked perfect.
