I purchased an extra trip odometer switch and soldered wires to an extra garage door opener. Do a search and you will find a lot of people who have done on here. Cost of parts less than $10 (plus an extra garage remote)
the opener is mounted in my tour-pak and the switch is mounted in-between my speedo and tach. I always find it funny when I see someone at the dealer pressing it to see my odometer reading and nothing happens:grin:
What you are hearing is that the garage door opener is installed under the fairing and is wired into the headlights for power. So when you hit your bright/dim switch it activates the garage door opener. This is the way the HD one works but you can also wire your own opener in this way or use the push button switch that others have mentioned.
I got it from Harley. there's two parts to it. It's the switch and the switch cover. I don't remember the part numbers, but I'll see if I can find my paperwork on it when I get home. Should be easy enough to find though, I just asked at the parts counter.
I’m having to replace my back rotor, I’m sure y’all have upgraded and found what works well and what should be past up on. A problem I’m finding is that one website reads a rotor I choose fits my bike but another says it doesn’t. Same rotor different sites, I’d like to know what I buy fits first...
