Hello all - great thread thanks. A basic question that I don't see discussed here (sorry if I missed it) is, does the DSR1 Battery+ Constant (yellow input) require any particular sized fuse protection?

Also, to those of you who have installed a DSR1, where have you connected the Battery+ Constant lead to?

Thanks -

Hi I have a Micro4v2600 watt DIAMOND amp and I am attempting to figure out where a good mounting location would be for a2018 M8 Harley Road Glide??

Where do I mount the amp inside the fairing? I tried on top of the headlight but it didn’t fit, any other options anybody knows on where to mount the amp?

I was thinking inside the fairing of course, but I’m top of the radio? Is there enough clearance so when I put the fairing back and the headlights back together again after I install it, will the fairing fit?

Thanks

Mine is mounted under the radio, arc audio 600/4. It comes with a mounting plate and I used heavy duty velcro.

Not sure why it wouldn't fit on top of the headlight. I've done the same AMP on my 2018, and have done two installs of the sister (Cerwin Vega B54) and all three have fit on top of the headlight without issue. Did you re-route the two wire holders that clip into the two holes on top of the headlight assembly?

If for some reason there's a tolerance stack up issue between your bike and the Micro4v2 you can always mount it under the radio.

Velcro it to the gas tank. Won’t look as good but easy enough to make adjustments on the fly. :)

Like wevsspot said, that thing fits like a glove above the headlight. Just reroute the wires and remove the plastic connectors for the wires from the headlight tabs. I’d swear they designed that amp just for the RG.

The main wire loom on top of the head light is held in place by 2 white plastic push pins that are secured into the plastic tabs on top of the headlight assembly. Release the fasteners from the tabs and then snip the sharp ends off flush with connector. Once you have the AMP wired and secured above the headlight and the radio installed, you run the wire loom over the top of the amp. Use four or five zip ties to keep all the wires bundled up tight. You can use 2-sided tape, Velcro or even long zip ties to further secure the AMP so it doesn't move around. If you're using the B54 or the Micro4v2 you don't even need to do that. The fit is so snug, that once you get the radio reinstalled and the main radio wiring harness connected to the back of the radio, those AMPs do not move. I'm attaching an image that illustrates the two push pins I'm referring to.

Copy Paste ?

I read good things about the DSR1. Here is a link on the subject, they have a file setup just to flatten out the HD EQ curve. Some good reading as well. Unfortunately I cannot post links as I don't have enough posts. So you will need to type the link in by hand.

The reply doesn't like the www so you can search below.
