Wife and I are using the Boom Audio 20S Comm systems to talk bike to bike and I have the Sena Freewire on my RGU so my helmet is now wireless and integrated to my bike sound system.

I would like to move my intercom plugin to inside the left fairing compartment, along with a 12 volt plug, so the Freewire is all stored inside the compartment and out of sight/out of the way.

My thought was to get a "Music and Communications Kit" 69200865, switch out where my rider plugin currently is, and route the wire to the compartment, along with a 12 volt plugin.

Anyone done something like this?

Thinking about returning my S20 dual set. Rider to passenger com has feed back and you hear yourself talking a lot of the time. My several year old Cardo Q3's worked better. I purchased the S20, first before I spent cash on the Free wire good thing I did. Lot of good things about the SENA S20 but this hearing your self is making the worthless a good part of the time.

Smitty... check your sidetone setting and make sure its disabled.
Disabled and tried turning the volume down so low you can hear either one. I have emailed them if they don't come up with something they are going back 420 dollars wasted. I would not mind the money if they worked . Wife told me to put the old Cardo Q3's back on.

Found this on the HD FOrum....The over tone you are getting is from Harley not Sena. Turn the 20s volume way down on Sena and turn the bike volume up. Play with it till you get just a small over tone. when you find the sweet spot it sounds a lot better. Harley messed with the over tone on 2 or 3 updates because a bunch of riders asked for over tone so they knew they were transmitting. Dumb but they got what they asked for. Used to be just on the phone, but now on the CB also.

Not using any of the HD radio with it. It is the head sets I have Q3'S Do not do it. I am not using these with any phone of other device. Worthless support just issues a ticket and sends you to a FAQ site that never mentions the problem.
Turn volume down until it is off works I guess. How can it be caused by HD when it will do it with the bike shut off and not even near it ?

I first had the dual 20S only and had some of the issues you mentioned, like echoes, mike always hot and lot of ambient noise in the hearings.
I then got 2 freewire, decoupled the two 20S connection and let everything be worked out by the HD infotainment system to the free wires.
Everything went perfect, no echoes, no hot mike anymore and ambient noise is completely gone. my judgment is that the 20S is not that good as a standalone, but it goes perfect with the freewire.
here is how i did my: http://www.roadglide.org/53-audio/324721-sena-freewire-almost-hidden-installation.html

I dont know Smitty.... seems some have it, some don't. That would be frustrating.

Beaver - I like that solution, a lot simpler than adding ports and it's secured.

The only issue I have so far is when I pair my cell phone with the Harley via bluetooth, sometimes more often than not the music then doesnt come over the headset. If the phone bluetooth is off then no problem. I havent tried pairing it with just the 20S, I like having the info popup on the screen. But I dont need the phone function. I ignore most of the calls while I'm riding anyway.

Just a bit pissed I should have caught it. The hype on the net about the S20 was minions just pushing a product. Also I had reports of great customer service, wrong they have none.
The S20 works great as an FM radio on my bikes than have no radio. The controls are larger and easier to operate than my old Q3's.
But that hearing your self talk makes them about worthless.
We had those Q3's for some time , I just figure that by now they would have gotten better at it. The old Q3's work better. I was fooled.
I have no use for pairing my phone to the bike. Retired I not playing phone tag anymore.
Not the first time I got screwed on bike products not the last I guess.

Well after emails and calls got a hold of SENA about the hearing yourself talk making the head sets worthless.
Their response , nothing we can do about it thank you for calling. Buyer beware.

How often does Harley update firmware in their radio systems? And how do they do it? Gotta be some significant updates.
The problem is not Harley if it does this crap with the Harley off park 400 feet away it aint the Harley causing it. SENA is aware of it just does not know what to do about it.

Thank you for the link.

I'm not familiar what you are saying about the 400 feet away issue. Can you elaborate?

Thanks again!

I have a first generation Sena 10.... never could get it to work for more than 10 minutes... turn off, turn on... couldn't talk...worthless..... they are almost new in the box.... So it seems that once again, in the same place.... Thanks Harley and Sena...no not really.

Just wondering if you ever tried setting this up. I've been contemplating a similar setup.
