Does anyone know if there is a mount designed to go on the dash above the radio. This seems like the best mounting location to me. Just looking for info. Thanks!

Short arm Ram mount with two 4 hole mounting plates. Piece of aluminum strap to sandwitch the fairing and add structural strength.

I can see it in pretty much any light.

The bad news.... you have to drill into your inner fairing.

And.....

Welcome to the forum :D

GPS is on top, Power Vision tuner is mounted on an Iron Aces mount on the gauge nacelle.

I don't want a permanent mount and use a Ram Mount suction cup on my wind screen. Take it off when it isn't necessary.

I made my own custom mount with the 08 RG , Velcro

That looks like the same GPS I have.
Do you have trouble seeing it in the daytime?
Mine was almost impossible to see on the Iron Aces mount.
I moved it to a Ram mount on the handlebars.
At least I can adjust it somewhat.

TIA.

That's a Nuvi 255W , it squatted a couple years ago and is sitting in a drawer next to me , yes it was a pain to see during the day

that was my setup before I got a ram mount

I have a Road Tech Zumo on the handlebar with a ram mount now on the Ultra

and its a pain to see during the day as well

Yeah I spent $95 on the iron aces mount and its impossible to see. I like the idea of throwing away the ambient air gauge, moving the fuel to that hole and putting a ram mount where the fuel gauge was... That's the best setup IMHO. Not sure what the glare is like in that position thou. Only issue I see above the stereo is its too far a reach. It's a pain getting to it on the iron aces mount. Putting on the left handle bar is probably ergo the best position if your going to interact with it frequently for mp3's.

I don't have any pictures any more, but I've used my Tom Tom suction mount in that location and also mounted it to the windshield.

Thanks for all of the info and the warm welcome!
Going to try the Ram mount. I have a 13 RG Custom with the slightly taller smoked winshield that is just barely high enough to conceal a GPS.
Im already addicted to looking for things to improve on and change. LOL

I use a cheap, long arm mount on my old style Madstaad.

If you use a suction type mount, make sure you use some type of safety in casr the suction cup lets go:eek:

Check eBay for a Case Mount GPS Sun Shade visor and an anti glare screen cover. It doesn't eliminate the issue but it makes it much easier to see in full sun.
