Just wanted to give some props to Avon Grips for an awesome customer service experience I had today.

I just got new handle bars for x mas, and have been looking at grips. I found a set of Avon's (black air cushioned with the throttle assist thing) I wanted but the web site showss they only make heated options for metric bikes on this particular grip.... No heat for harleys BOOOO!!!!. So I called Avon directly. The phone did not even get to the first ring, and the operator/sales lady picked up. Very nice sounding a respectful lady. I told her what I was interested in and she transfered me immediately to Lee in tech support. I literally did not wait on hold for more than 10 seconds. After explaining to Lee what I wanted he gave a good explanation as to why they have not devloped the Heat Demon grips for harleys yet (has to do with the fly by wire)

Lee told me if I bought my own heat demons, he would personally custom install them into the grip of my choice for no charge! Awesome guy with good info. he knew his stuff and did not try to hussle me or blow me off. Hard to find decent service like that these days. I like to give credit where its due.... my hats off to Avon for great customer service thus far. I hope I will have the same feeling after the sale. From the reviews I have read online, I hear they are good people to work with.

*** Just a side note***I know Heat Demons are suppost to be installed inside your handle bars, but Avon installs them into the grips because it gives a more even heat and quicker heat up (or at least that whay they say. The guys that have them on metric bikes pre installed from Avon have given them awesome reviews.... only time will tell! I did find some Heat Demons on ebay for $105.99 plus 10 bucks for shipping, not a bad deal.

Thanks for the info but why can you buy them and they will install them but they do not sell them already installed...confussed?

I have been thinking getting the air cushion grips but as far as heat I think I would be better off with heated gloves since it will put heat all of my hands and not just the palms.

The reason they dont sell them already installed is because they have not developed a heat pad to work with the fly by wire grip yet. It is still in research for them. Its something to do the with the way the grip is designed and the throttle sleeve design. I was told that maybe by next year they would have it perfected and on the market.

Me personally, I dont like thick gloves... or gloves at all if I can help it, so this looks to be the way for me to go.
