I need serious help! I recently purchased a 2011 Road Glide which had custom 16" bars. Not my style to say the least. I decided to swap them out with some 14" FMB Reaper bars. 1.25" width. I went with the magnum black get a grip fly by wire Harley grips. THe throttle grip does not connect with the throttle switch. Sorry for my limited knowledge on parts but the grip won't fit on the bar. The bars seem to be too think. I then decided to shave some of the bars so the grip fits. Now the grip fits but it will not connect to the throttle threads. Someone please help. I'm new to the site. I can add photos if someone shows me how! Thanks for the help guys!! I contacted Harley but they were no help. Of course they wanted me to bring my bike in for the $100/hour...lol!!

Yes they are TBW. The throttle fits fine and the throttle spins like it should. Prob is when I put the grip on it won't connect and does not fit properly. I tried calling FMB manufacturing but have been unsuccessful in making contact. I just ordered a pair of AVON grips. I hope this solves the issue. Any suggestions anyone?!?

Yes the grips are FBW. I think I might nave faulty bars. The clutch side grip fits the bar and is actually loose. I can spin the grip while it's on the bar and doesn't snap into the mounted controls. The throttle slide did not fit. I had to shave down the bars with a sander and finally got the grip to fit the bar but now the grip won't catch the FBW throttle. I tried calling the manufacturer but they have not called me back. I will upload some pictures tomorrow morning. Thank you guys for the feedback. The weather is getting nice up here in New England and I want to ride my new bike. Traded in the street glide for the road glide????

Here is a picture of the throttle side that I had to sand down because the grip would not fit. FMB bars emailed me and stated the powder coat was most likely to thick. He told me to send them to a local powder coat shop and have the powder coat peeled off. I don't understand how this is my problem and why I should pay for that? The bars are TBW and the grips are too. Any other suggestions fellow riders?? I ordered AVON grips. They should be here today. I'll try these grips and if they don't fit I don't know what to do?!

Ok guys so I might have fixed the issue. I borrowed a pair of my buddies grips and they seem to work fine? Throttle slide fit like a glove and had good snap back on the throttle. I must have bought 2 pairs of faulty grips. Seems hard to believe. Still having issues with the clutch side. Grips won't stick and spin even when attached the the clutch assembly and module. I might just buy grip glue and hope for the best. Obviously not the best root but might be the only way to go without buying all new bars. I'm assuming the bars by FMB are not to spec and are probably not exactly 1".
