I've used my air compressor setting the regulator to the desired psi. However, without an anti-bleed chuck on it, you loose 5-7 psi as soon as you take the chuck off and then also everytime you check it with a regular gauge.

Definitely have to get me one of those anti-bleed bike pumps.

I use it. It's small enough to take with you at all times and there's really no danger of blowing and seals with it. Seems like a no brainer to me. Order one from an online vendor at 20% off and be done with it.

I use one that I have for Mountain Bike Suspensions. It works perfectly...

Cheap too... I think I got it on sale for 24.00 bucks...
Hey Zuppy, I like that Hurricane pump but have a question. Are the numbers on the bottom the ones you use? It says it pumps to 300 PSI and I know we only need to go to about 50 PSI. Just want to make sure before I order that I would be able to read it down to each PSI.

Thanks,

Rear Air Suspension

I got the HD pump yesterday. Found the level at 12psi(bumps would rattle my passenger)...So I increased it to 35 PSI on my '09 (Im 200 pounds + 2UP varies+bags).
Does anyone know what is the average bleed time for the Rear Air Suspension. I'm just curious to see what everyones variances are. Dealer told me they set at 20 psi factory default. So I lost 8 PSI in 10 months...seems reasonable and that includes 6 months of winter storage.
So how often do you all check the PSI reading on the Rear Air Suspension for those of you riding 2009 RG's?

I was gonna ask about this as well. I rode a rk for years and never had to mess with the air in the shocks. when I bought the rg the suspension is terrible. seems to bottom out easily almost like I am riding a hardtail. Going to the tail of the dragon in two weeks and gotta get this taken care of b4 we go.

Had the same problem with my '10, had the dealer adjust it twice when it was in for other things, still bottoming out. I got a pump and found they set it for 5lbs the first time, 10lbs the second time. I boosted it to 32lbs and now it is perfect.

I was once told that on earlier years you did not "need" as much pressure. I had the same problems with mine from the dealer. I was bottoming and scrapping on the ride home.
I picked up the HD pump yesterday and once I put it up to 30psi for the ride home I noticed the difference right away.
I was also curious if I could use it on my tires.
