While on a ride to Sedona AZ. I noticed that if I took my hands off the Bars I got a little shake,
I checked tire pressure
First service was just done
Checked all the nuts
With my Ultra I could let go at any speed, anyone noticed anything like this?
Thanks Frodoe:confused:

I've read a lot of cases of this happening to the 09's and 10's. I have no problems with mine,. but have read a lot of people having a wobble, and I think everytime it comes down to the steering head nut loose.

This is supposed to be check at Break In Service. What Tech should do,... Put the bike up on a jack. Realease the front end. Check the sway, how many times front end goes to the right, then back to the left. Thats how ya tell if the steer bolt needs adjusted (tightened). Front End should do this NO MORE THAN 3 TIMES! R.-L.-R. Seems like there has been "ISSUES" w/09 and 010 Touring Bikes. Some, not all. Mine was loose,Tech said mine went Right to Left SIX FREAKN TIMES! 6 TIMES! but didnt notice till I put 21"er on the front. You talkn bout FREAKN OUT! But its all good now. TG! I thought my NEW WHEEL was messed up,... Thats the funny thing though. Didnt start doin it till I installed my AfterMarket Stuff. But the bike only had bout 6 or 700 mile on it.

If it never did this before then I would first be looking at the tire. On my bike trip back in May, my buddy wasn't staying up with me when we were running 85-90 down I75 towards Naples FL. When we stopped for gas he said he had a shimmy/slap that wasn't there before. I looked at the tire and said here's your problem. $205 later and all was well !

I ride hands free on a daily basis, sometimes as much as 20 miles at a shot. I've become very in tune to the bike. Not long ago, I noticed the bars doing a slight wiggle at 80mph and at slower speeds it got worse, almost to the point of death wobble. I thought steering head as well, but checked the book and saw the first check wasn't till 25k (that's not to say some bikes loosen up sooner). So I checked my air pressure, and it was 10 psi low in both tires! Aired them back up and smooth as silk again.

I just read the service bulletin on the tire issue. It says that your buddy can get reimbursed for that tire, if it was done by a certified HD dealer. He would also need the receipt. Of course, it also says that HD dealers are supposed to send letters to all registered owners that there is a tire problem! I bought my '09 in May 2009 and still haven't received that letter! Oops.

WOW .. I was just about to start a thread to see if anyone else is having this problem ... I guess so!

Long story short I installed a new set of RC wheels (21x18) and I had all kinds of issues wobbling being one of them. Of course the HD dealership blamed the "AFTERMARKET" wheels but now that I have my stock wheels back on I still get a wobble at 50-40 mph, especially on a deceleration .... is this normal?!?! The HD dealership claims to have tightened the neck bolt but if so than why did I get wobbling with both wheels? What gives?!?!

Thanks Guys

Ya When I started this I thought: Ok this guy is got something other than a screw loose, But you have put my mind at rest. I'll call HD dealer I still have End to end warranty, and this was my first real ride since the surgery. Kind of thought I might still have those old flash back jitters.
thanks, Frodoe:rolleyes:

Just Call HD

Might have to put on the gloves. Call HD service and asked about the front-end.
They said RG's are self centering bikes (?) he said they don't put them up and check side to side. He also said if the front goes out I might be charged and it would be same if belt went off track. I told him bike has less than 1000 miles on it and 350 after 1st service. bottom line I'm not happy but I will let ya know how this one plays out.

My Dealer did! And let me say to both of ya, "Take it to another DEALER"! Call them on the phone. Tell them your not satisfied w/what has been going on w/your Dealer. Times are TOUGH, and dearlers are starting to treat people "CUSTOMERS" like crap.

F%^&*^G Dealership!

:mad:I got my bike back today. The good news is I no longer have a wobbling front wheel, bad news is they billed me 1.5 hours to tighten the head bolt. I almost blew a gasket considering my bike only had about 1,500-1,800 miles on it when I initially complained plus they told me they tightened the head bolt when I had all my issues with a 21" RC front wheel they installed. They insisted this was not a warranty item but a wear and tear ... which is complete and utter BS!

I called HD as soon as I got home and they confirmed it's NOT A WARRANTY issue BUT the delivering dealer is supposed to check this stuff when they perform their PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) which HD pays them to do this! So long story short the dealership F'd up (again) and should have eaten the bill. I'm so done with this dealership ... their service department is cluttered with incompetence!
