Is the HD windshield trim and the Mako compatible on a 2012 RGU? After I have a hell of a time putting in the trim on I ended with 1/4 gaps on the sides between the fairing and the trim, my concern is that it will eventually rip the thin rubber gasket from the trim.
Could it be because i re-installed the factory rubber gasket on the bottom of the windshield? At this point I am ready to go to the hardware store and buy new screws so I can install the windshield without the trim.

Thank you.

I just reinstalled the factory trim piece from my 2013 RGC onto a new 12" Mako. It fit on there real nice. Yes, there is a 1/4" on each side, but after installing the windshield you will see that due to the angle of the ends of the trim it will fully support the windshield all the way to its ends. Hopefully that makes sense ha ha.

I was planning on removing the wellnuts and installing them onto the windshield first as a lot of peeps recommend, but after taking off my stock windshield and looking over the situation I decided to leave them alone. There is a substantial washer behind the wellnut and I dont see any way the wellnut could be pushed through the fairing.
