An Army buddy and I are taking a ride to Milwaukee mid-May this year and I would appreciate any insight, thoughts and recommendations! I live in Connecticut and plan on ending the first day in Wooster Ohio (650 miles) to see another Army buddy. Smitty is heading up from West Virginia and will meet me there the first night. We figure 2 more days to Milwaukee; spend a few days there touring the factory and museum and then take a leisurely 4 or 5 day trip home. His trip may be a little different from mine--he has a 2007 Soft tail Heritage Classic and does not like the highway!

May 11th is the first outdoor bike nite at the museum and is evry Thursday after. I know they're doing a salute to military on May 20th. Lots of distillarys to tour as well as brewery tours. Conijotes is alright. It is cheap for sure. I prefer places on 5th and National. Just a few blocks away. Plenty of great places to eat no matter your cravings.

Also go to Holy Hill. Some great riding out there, lots of rustic roads. Climb the tower at Holy Hill if heights don't bother you for some amazing views!

Motels around 13 th and College AVE. Near Airport are not far away and some fair rates can be had. If you want a list of some options just yell.
Ride the downtown and lake front if you have time.

On the way over stop by Ukes HD, it's just north of the Illinois border off 94/41, they're a dealer that's been around for awhile, some pretty interesting things on the 2nd floor, give you a chance to take that last minute stop before you get to Milwaukee.

Oldest dealer in Wisconsin. Good food right up the frontage road from them.

Going up that way in mid May as well and staying in Milwaukee for a day or 2. Thinking about cutting around and coming back down on the Michigan side. Any idea what the weather is normally like at that time?

This time of year cool early in the day and late. You should be fine. Just keep an eye out and have second plan . This time of year it can turn anytime. near the Lake it is cooling to be cooler. IMO the ride up and around is some what boring. But if you have never done it, you would likely see it from a different point of view. Watch out for Deer.

I live here, and I have no idea what the weather is going to be like lol. Usually in the 50 t 60's for highs, and mid 30's for lows, though the last few days was 70's or close to. Really just be prepared for anything. And yes, the lake is a giant refrigerator depending on the wind. There can be a 15 degree difference by the lake vs. a mile inland.
