Heading out on a ride with a few friends to Robbinsville, Nc. mid June to the typical spots...... Tail of the Dragon, Moonshiner, Skyline Drive, and Blue Ridge Parkway. What else should we check out while we're down there? Thought there might have been plans to hit up Wheels Through Time as well.

Stay at the San Ran Motel (828)479-3256, the most MC friendly facility I have ever seen. Nothing fancy but clean, comfortable, nice management, all on one level. You can park your bike in front of your room under the awning. Within walking distance of several good restaurants. If you drink alcohol, none sold in Graham County, you have to pack it in.

Wayah Road off of 74/19 to Franklin, then follow 28 back to 143 back to Robbinsville or go on to 129 and head back.

64 to Highlands, go on about 10 miles to 281 to 107, loops back to 64. Great ride with little traffic on 281 and 107, 64 very scenic.

The Iron Horse off 28 in Stecoah is a good place to stay as well.

Avoid the Dragon on Saturdays and Sundays. Crowded and big LEO presence.

Wheels Through Time is well worth it!

Thanks for the info. I'm leaving from CT tomorrow and am going down to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a week. I'm planning on going to the Wheels Through Time Museum as well. Looking forward to good riding and hopefully good weather.

Wheels Thru Time - in maggie valley ( maggie valley is another good place to stay in that area )

GSMNP - nice ride from Gatlinburg thru to Cherokee
can easily make a loop of it from Robbinsville

Pretty hard to go wrong selecting roads to ride in that area.

I second the Wayah Road. It's my single favorite road to ride in that area. Good ride and good feel for a very scenic part of the mountains.

Looks like your trip already happened but I go down every single year.

I highly, highly recommend Tapoco Lodge. It's right at the base off the Dragon off 129.
