Yesterday afternoon decided to go ride with my gf out in the country. After 45 minutes into our ride, I do a left turn and...NO MORE heal Shifter! Just fell off! So basically lost it in a stretch between 2 stop signs that were 2.5 miles apart!! So we backtracked, after a quick one time over we don't spot it...so we go grid by grid both sides of the road...took 2 bloody hours but we found the darned thing: Luck of the Irish!?
Anyway, pretty much blew our afternoon ride. But I'm happy I won't need to buy that Custom Chrome Lever (HD-Scully Familly Set). Definitely not my week (ticket + this)
Oh, btw, is there ANYTHING else that might just fall off on our RG's (besides a sleeping passenger  lol) ?

Just like the older bikes you should still go through and check on the nuts and bolts every once in awhile lol. I have lost more than one part going down the road lol.

Whoever invented LocTite gets my vote for Purlitzer Prize. I used to have to do a pre-flight check on my Fatboy everytime I took it out. I haven't noticed anything working loose on mine yet but now that you brought it up I'm gonna be paranoid.:(

For many many years I "Had to Have" a heel toe setup , couldnt live without it .. This bike , about a month after I got it , one of the shifters starting stripping out ..

So I took it off , and was jus gonna toe shift till I cud make it to the dealer to swap it out ..

Two years later , still toeing ..

Yeah my shovels and pan its a thirty minit preflight and postflight ..

Agree, lost my entire shifter set up coming back from sturgis. both heel and toe, looked for better part of 2 hours. ended up doing a roadside repair and improvising a jockey shift lever to make it home. Road better part of 400 miles that way. not a good way to travel. agree on the pre and post flight check list, just can not be too careful
