Is anyone riding with the Heli Horizon bars on their bike? I saw and tried them out in Daytona this year and I'm interested in any feedback who has experience with the on an RG. I like the thought of being able to do the multiple easy adjustments when wanted. They have the powder coated one in daytona. The price is way to high, but I really liked the feel of the bars.

thanks in advance

yeah I've looked at the options and have already changed mine out to blacked out heritage bars. Just looking to see if anyone is riding with one right now and get some feedback from them. I just like the thought of extreme flexibility with these bars, what can I say??

Those bars really got my attention to, until I saw the price. If they could figure out how to get the price down, I think they could sell a bunch.

O.K.! You guys got me curious. What do they look like, and what is the price?
They are $850 for a set of bars and the link is below. Yes that is a bunch of cash.

Saw them in Daytona at the HD dealership vendor area by mainstreet and sat on the bike in the picture. It was just a very comfortable fit. As I said I like the idea of being able to change the positions as I want to.

Heli Hell

I've used Heli bars on two Honda ST1100s over the years. The problem is they do not come with etching or markings on the joints to aid setting both sides the same. With various injuries, aches and pains I can get them to feel right, go for a ride and be on the side of the road adjusting. It is a good product but if you go for them lay some masking tape along a steel ruler, make some close increment marks on the tape and then wrap the tape on the tubes as the tubes are laying in the same position on a flat table. That should help.

Of course, if the ones for the FL has markings of some sort, never mind.

I just ordered a set today......At 5'6" and a bunch of steel rattlin around inside of me from a former accident I decided to give them a try to see if I can find a sweet spot where I can ride a few miles further.....I'll have them next Thursday and install them ASAP.......report to follow!

I received my package this afternoon...bars are on the bike. Once I get the new bulbs in place and the fairing on , the rider seat back support adjusted, we're on the road again.....dinner ride on Friday night....will let you know if they were worth it or not......

BTW....the bars are BLACK!

I've had a set on my 09 RG for over a year now. I really like the adjustability and the position of my arms. Makes for very comfortable touring.

As for the cost, I figured I'd go through at least two sets of "normal" bars trying to get the postion just right. So, in my case it was worth the money upfront to get it right the first time.

first impression heli bars.....

got the nose back on and adjusted the clutch,,,,,and off we went......all I can say is WOW! I set the bars about where I wanted them made a few adjustments on the road.....and as of right now I have to say these bars are great...I have a lot more control over the bike......no compromise on handlebar positions, fully adjustable in three planes.

I'm sitting back where I want to be , no more stretch for the bars, just the right height...rode all afternoon and headed out to meet some people for a dinner ride we do every Friday night

these bars...EXPENSIVE! BUt when you can adjust them for the way you ride AND adjust them over and over for any situation such as changing seats or footpegs/boards , they sell themselves......give you another report in a few more days of riding...........

BTW on the 08 and up no cables to buy and change ...works with OEM cables on the bike.....just reroute of the clutch cable

Just had them installed (Helibars) at Laconia a few days ago... Let's just say I've returned the Wild1 chubby 12.5's I had ordered. Takes some getting used to the position they recommend, but the handling is a dream, and no aches between the shoulder blades. This morning I cranked them up to more of an ape position,,, fists in the wind so to speak. Safe to say I'm sold!!! :D
