Not a road glide owner but love the model and since joining another forum online I've discovered lots of good people that share their stories and projects that can translate to the other touring models. As I've discovered when you're sitting on two wheels you're part of a family, whenever you're sitting on two wheels that have a bar and shield on them, you're part of not only a family but a huge community. I'm not a brand snob. I love Harley-Davidson but own several other brands as well. I look forward to getting to know all of you all. My sled is a 2006 Harley Davidson Flhpi road King. Aka Sgt Sam. ( His officers name was on the front fender Ofc. Samuels) he was a Sgt with the sheriff's department in Atlanta Georgia. I called and bugged them till I got to talk to someone about his maintenance records. He's already had his upgrades done to the cam chest prior to me getting him, and I've added my own touches to him. The really funny thing is my father ( a Vietnam veteran) was a deputy sheriff both in KY where he retired at rank of Sgt And in the state of Georgia one county over from where Sam came from. Dad passed in 2017 and had never owned a Harley he always wanted one (mom said she was too old, for him to learn how to ride with her on the back) they both encouraged me to ride and enjoy motorcycles. Mom had been a ol lady in her early twenties before she met my dad. I found Sam in Kentucky ( day before my dad's birthday in June) up the street from my house. I actually got the bike on my dad's birthday. Sam had been bought at auction with a bad fuel pump by a man who was diagnosed with vertigo a month later. Sam Sat for 3 years in his garage without even being started, one $68 fuel pump & 1 he of labor and he began his civilian career . I even put my dad's sheriff's badges on my dashboard . He like my dad is a veteran. Vets will surprise you, their tough, loyal, reliable, and when backed into a corner, will come out harder than you ever would imagine. Anyway great to be here. I've added some pictures of Sam when I bought him and since he's been in action. God bless all of you and keep the shiny side up and between the ditches 😁🙏
