Help needed.. Audio sytem - Faring only

I don't know what speakers and amp to get..
Just sold the OEM stereo and the Boom! speakers with Boom! amp, because wasn't satisfied.
I'd like 4 speakers in the fairing (the other pair located in the inner fairing, facing each other) with the HEAD UNIT: Yaffe's/Rockford Fosgate Digital Media Center.

Before I read the bad reviews about the PBR300x4 amp, I was thinking on getting this system:

The Bagger Nation “Super Stereo” for Road Glides or Baggers with Vented Fairing Lowers
If you own a Road Glide you’re probably aware of how bad ass the Super Stereo kit is. Well, now with the introduction of HD’s new 6.5” Fairing Lower Speaker pods you can add our Super Stereo kit to any touring model that has Fairing Lowers too! The kit will either put (4) 6.5” coaxial speakers in a Road Glide fairing and therefore in your face or it will put (2) in the fairing and (2) in the lowers. Either way you’ve got a rock con- cert in front of you at any speed and any conditions. Each Kit includes a Rockford Fosgate BRT300x4 amplifier, (4) Coaxial Power Speakers, hard amp mount / heat sink, complete wir- ing and hardware along with step by step instructions. This system will provide you with amazing sound clarity and vol- ume capabilities that you’ve never heard from a motorcycle sound system! So if you’re looking for some kick ass curb ap- peal or you are just dying to rock out at 80 and actually hear crystal clear audio your search has ended! Our Bagger Nation Super Stereo System will blow you away!
Part # RF300x4-SS

I'm not concerned about cutting the glove boxes inners to fit speakers.

Is there another way to put 4 speakers in the fairing, and keeping the glove boxes?

What site (online) do you recommend to get the speakers and amp?

What and where (online) to get all the stuff for the install?
-Wires
-Amp mount
-Speaker adapters
-Something else?

As you may see.. I'm lost here..

Your advice is really important
Thanks a lot!

I added the super stereo you have listed and it did not affect the glove boxes at all.

Sounds great but still wish there was a way to get some more bass.

Thanks Zogs2009! Do you have the OEM Head Unit or the BN/RF Digital Media Center?

Something I wanna add:

1) My expectations:
Get better sound quality than Boom!.
Keep a decent sound at 100 mph with a fullface helmet.
Water resistant.

2) I could spend up to $800 (for the hole kit -speakers, amp and install hardware) but if there is something nice for less money, I'll be very happy.

Thanks again

If you like the Yaffe system, you can buy all the parts and piece it together for less than half the price. There are several avenues you can choose, $800 can get you a decent HU, an amp and 4 speakers that will definetly sound better than OEM.

I haven't heard the Yaffe speaker system.. I'm in Mexico, nobody has it.
The $800 are for 4 speakers/amp/installation hardware (head unit not included in there)

What avenue would you choose?

I'm the wrong one to ask that question, I'm in the process of upgrading my system for about the 3rd time, the system I have now sounds great, I just want to try something new and ran into a couple of good deals. Right now I have a Sony HU (GTU 770 or something like that $130) two RF PBR 300x2 amps $150 each Focal CA series speakers $100, and the RF T165 in the inner fairing $80 but I'm also running speakers in my lowers and saddlebags. I'm going with Hawgwired for the amps and a better set of Focals, too much to explain without taking over your thread, but the four speakers I have in the fairing sound better than the Boom, IMO. BTW I have a friend who I installed two sets of Polk MM651 and two RF 300x2 amps in his fairng using the stock unit, total cost just under $600, but it is nice loud and clear.

you are on the right track, however you will be better of using the rockford 2 channel as it had more range of adjustment and you can stack both sets of speakers on the one amp and get (I.M.O) better use out of the amp. buy all those parts separately and you will save a ton of money as opposed to buying the kit from yaffe

I have had good luck for service and great prices from onlinecarstereo.com I'm in the middle of deciding which speakers and amps as well. I know I want to go with either 4 Polk audio or 4 vocals in the fairing. As far as amp goes I've been looking at the arc audio 125 watt 4 channel mini amp. Any pros or cons about any off this

I love the Focals, but you will have to cut your glove boxes if you do 4 in the fairing, not the case with the Polks, also remember to check the impeadance, (ohms).

So y can fit 4 Polk 6.5 in the faring without cutting the glove boxes? But u can't fit 4 vocals without cutting glove boxes. That might be the final info need for speaker options. Polk it is. Any pros or cons on arc amp

super stereo is a good starting point, there are ways to do it better for less

or get much more for the same cost

example the power cable they ship is 10ga but feels like 12ga, too small

knu koncepts has a universal 8ga kit for $30 on amazon or ebay or EFX in walmart for $35

$800 is an accurate estimate on parts with radio, everything 4 speakers up front. lids add another 550-800 depending, etc...

the more the more the better, I have 2 rockford pbr300x2's, hawg wired ZX, pioneer G144R, pioneed 6x8's, two remote dials, BT1005, HUA cradle, sony DSX-310BT radio, waterproof cover, loud enough, for now

the 4 in the face are all about clarity, imo, at least that's how I run them, ZX have the main system tone, which I find nice, like the particular voicing on that speaker, it's a component based on eminence alpha, I think, no matter I've tried HAT's and db's also, the HATs were slightly brash to my ears and the db's undersized crossovers.

but my 4 in the fairing are mostly clarity, run a HP 90Hz

to fill in I have the 6x8's running full range on their own amp.

you can only take a small amp and speakers so far.

so best to plan ahead, and repeat until happy.

I used pioneers because they are high wattage, very thin, inexpensive, loud and match volumetric timber of the ZX well.

they're pointed at the triple trees so detail is not as critical
