Help needed for returning injured Warriors!

Put this date on your calendar!
November 1, 2013 (Friday)
Let’s get together and help our Injured Warriors! Our HOG chapter out of Orange County Harley-Davidson in Irvine, CA is seeking any and all makes of bikes to go a “Fully Escorted” ride.
About
Injured Warrior Appreciation Run November 1, 2013. Register at www.injuredwarriorride.com on 7/15/13. 100% of the proceeds benefit the injured warriors.

Description
The Injured Warrior Appreciation Run is a motorcycle ride that begins in Orange County, CA and ends on base at Camp Pendleton where the injured warriors live. It is open to all motorcycles. Riding on base requires helmet, ankle boots and gloves. All proceeds benefit the combat wounded, ill and injured marines and sailors at Camp Pendleton and those being served by the Warrior Foundation.
Be sure to click on this link above to learn more and watch a short video from last year’s inaugural ride. The video indicates that we raised in excess of $12,000 the actual donation was more like $18,000! We hope to double that amount and more.
Of course we are looking for riders and sponsors, but if anyone else who feels like they can help with a donation (small to large) it would be appreciated.
We’re on FaceBook @ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Injured-Warrior-Appreciation-Run-IWAR/407024636020085

Thank you!

Did this ride last year. It was great to see the turnout and the enthusiasm among the troops as well as the riders was very rewarding. I'll be there again for sure. Sure would be nice to see good representation from the So Cal RG.org riders!

Stray Mutt & RichieRichMRMC we look forward to seeing you again this year and Thank you your support! Yes it was rewarding, fun and the most well organized charity ride I've ever been on. Safe too as we had a motor escort who ran a traffic break on the 5 freeway so 350+ motorcycles can safely ride the 30 or so miles to and thru Camp Pendleton NON STOP. We're expecting more bikes and an even better event this year. Help us to keep it growing by signing up to ride along and if you can't due to your proximity we welcome your generous donations.

If anyone haven't yet seen the video from last year's ride please check it out here @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Fz1_ABl7pGU

Thank you!

Ok! Let's get the ball rolling on signing up and or donating to this worthy cause. Remember our heroes need our support and what better way to directly help them by helping us in our efforts to make this IWAR ride successful to support the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.
Sponsorships are welcome too as those monies go to putting on this great event. Monies raised by donations/rider registrations go directly to the cause. So however you prefer to help out is greatly appreciated.
Your donation can help in many ways. Please take the time to browse the websites above to learn how the resources are used.

Thank you very much!

It's here! Friday is the Big Day. Weather is forecasting a high of 79 and sunny. From the looks of the rider/passenger counts we have exceeded even our own expectations! Thank you to all who've signed up or donated to this worthy cause and for those unable to attend please know it's not too late to help. Just visit the web page at the beginning of this thread and donate if you see fit.
On behalf of our brave veterans past and present who have sacrificed so much a BIG THANK YOU!

Also, a Thank you to RoadGlide.org for helping me out. Thanks guys!

See you Friday,

Rob

What a great turnout we had on Friday over 600 bikes! The weather was Beautiful! The motorcycle community showed up in record numbers which far exceeded our expectations BTW! For those that came out and or donated I would like to thank you for helping this great cause. See link to newspaper article (http://www.ocregister.com/articles/torres-534351-marines-barron.html). The final totals are preliminary but it's looking like it will exceed $28,000 to help out our Injured Warriors out at Camp Pendleton.
We hope you enjoyed your experience and that your check-in and ride went smooth. Keep in mind we are not professionals as we all volunteer our time to make this event happen. We will be striving to make it even bigger and better next year (tentatively set for November Friday 7th).
We look forward to seeing you next year!

Sincerely,

Rob Vandal
