Howdy all,

I'm trying to remove my ignition switch but it seems "stuck". I don't want to yank it too hard as I remember it coming out pretty easy last time. I've the feeling I'm missing something stupid.

Here's what's happening. I push the detent underneath the switch, turn ket past unlock and feel the switch lift a bit but it doesn't come out. When I turn the key back the detent pops back out as is should and the switch works fine. The videos and instructions I've read are all very straight forward but for some reason it's not working. I've tried slowly turning the key past unlock to see if there is some sort of sweet spot but no dice.

Is there something I'm missing here?

I'm going to have to pry this mofo out I think. It's just not coming out... certainly not as easy as it looks in these videos. I'm not sure what the deal is.

Has anyone every had to pry it out?

AHA!!! Turns out on the '98 the switch has to be in the ACCESSORY position before it will come out. Switched it over, pushed the pin, turned the key and pop! It came right out.:nerd:

...glad I didn't resort to brute force. In any case, it's back to the grind. Hopefully I'll get these Carlini's on before too long.

I'm glad you got it figured out. I didn't know it had to be on ACC. I learn something every day.
