I give up. I'm trying to remove the threaded bosses that hold the windshield to the fairing on my '10 RG. The chrome H-D Road Glide trim then screws into these bosses. The bosses just seem to spin around on the outer fairing. Please don't tell me I have to remove the fairing just to remove these fasteners.

u talking bout the five black well nuts , if theres no screw in 'em to unscrew the windshield shudda fell off in yer hands

if the windshield did come off , you may be able to pop them out and ya may not be able to pop them out

They are silver well nuts where the hex head trim screws go into to hold the Harly trim on. They just seem to spin around rather than unscrew. They are not threaded into the fairing somehow. The bike is new so I've not done much work on it yet, let alone meded with the windshield. Here's a pic of the fastener.

Have you tried just pulling them out? I believe the offsets on the Kuryakyn version just sit in the well nut rather than screw in.

Got them off ! The screws themselves must be at least an inch long, and fine thread, so I had to turn them a bunch of times before I could see them starting to come loose. Thanks for the help !
