Data : the wife and I, are French leaving in France and always ride together using a road-glide custom 2013 with a tour pack. We ride also a carburetor road-king 1999. We are weighing 400 lbs, and with luggage we can reach 480 lbs.
Origin 12” HD shock absorbers on the RGC have been removed very fast and replaced by 12” Ohlins according to my dealership. Unfortunately, despite many trials, Ohlins France was not able to find any spring to give comfort and avoid bottom out.
Therefore I asked to my dealership to install air/oil 13” Harley Davidson absorbers used on touring , as I am fully satisfied with the road king but we are not riding with luggage. On the road-glide with 13” air/oil suspension the comfort is OK but we bottom out sometimes when the tour pack is installed and moreover when luggage is in.
Last week, new shock absorbers 444 HD Progressive Suspension were bought and installed. Last three days, we put some 400 miles on the bike. I took care to adjust the SAG according to Progressive Suspensions recommendations and we travelled without luggage. Result: high level of pain in our back. These absorbers are not convenient for us (comfort) despite noticeable improvement in ride safety.
Conclusion: I need to install convenient 13” Ohlins shock absorbers on the RGC as nobody where I am leaving will be able to install properly air suspension with compressor.
Help required: as Ohlins France has no experience regarding Harley Davidson cruisers, I need to tell them which 13” model and spring specs are required. Who could help me ?
PS: I know that I could divorce, loose weight (do both) to solve the issue. However I am still hoping that a “shock absorber” solution can be tried before !

Contact Howard (motorcyclemetal.com) See if he can ship to you.

Just installed Ohlins on my 2012 FLTRU I got from Howard. My setup is similar to your weight description. I'm breaking them in on my way to Sharkweek.

13" height, over 3 7/8 " travel.. So far, these feel great. I wish i had done shocks when I first got the bike.

Öhlins arrived !

Thank you for your help
After great discussion by phone with Mr Howard, I ordered him Ōhlins (HD927) and received them one week later :)
I have to wait for another week to install and test them.
I will be back with pictures and comment:)

Yes Sir, they are !

Mr Howard is kind to provide operating instructions with pictures, in addition to those included with the shock absorbers. It is key to adjust SAG (1/3 of overall travel of shock absorbers) by adjusting pre-load of the spring before riding.

First trial

Shocks HD 357 (#6)arrived and installed
1- Shock absorber total length has to be set at the minimum to avoid any bump on my Von Braun exhaust,
2-Not enough space to install the tanks as described according to electrical harness on my 13 FLTRXSE2. I installed them under my tour pack which is not removable easily now.
3 - after adjustment of the SAG according to 2 riders (90%)I found very quickly that other settings should be set very soft ( 18 clicks counter clockwise) to get a real very soft ride.

After 250 miles my back is not in pain !!!
thank you Ohlins, thank you very much Mister Howard !
Pictures to come soon
