Hi guys. I don't have a service manual for my 2013 yet and I'm installing a new J&M 4channei amp and speakers this weekend. Looks like the fairing comes off the same as my 08 but I'm not sure about the gas tank. What are the steps for removing the tank?

Also, is adding foam as a sound deadner important? If so where do you get it? I don't want to do anything to create more heat.

Why remove the tank? You should be ale to slide cables front to rear without removing it. You might remove the front bolt so you can raise it up a bit. I 've run all sorts of wires stem to stern without removing the tank.

Dampening material inside the fairing will make a noticeable difference in bass response sitting still, but I doubt you'll notice any improvement at speed.

Dynaxorb works well.

The plus of taking the tank off is you can run the wires into the plastic channel that holds all the other wires. Not a huge differance but after I found out how easy it is to take the tank on and off I prefer doing it that way.
