I just installed a set of Dakota Digital MCL-3006 in Red on my 2012 Roadglide Custom.
I haven't completed the update of the gauges do to time constraints so I will take pictures tomorrow when I get back to the bike.
I have a question for those that have done the install already.
Is it necessary to install the new ground wire from the fuel gauge to the sending unit?
Also, is it necessary to install the Oil Temperature Sending Unit if I already have the Harley OEM one?
I've Googled the hell out of this to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My bike is an 04 and when I installed mine I did install the new oil pressure unit, DD recommended it and that was enough for me. I tried using the factory ground wire for the fuel sending unit and my gauge stays pegged at full. I have not had the tank or the fairing off since then to add the wire where they say to if the factory one does not work so I keep track of my mileage for fuel consumption.

So if I were to do it again I would just do both of them at the same time and be done with it. I also went with the MVX-8K Series, Analog/Digital Plug-in Instrumentation but it should not matter which set.

I had these on my 12 also.. All this info was in the installation instructions.. As II recall you don't need the ground wire for the fuel gauge.. You do need to install the temp sending unit.. The OEM is oil press not temp.. Easy install remove a plug from the pan and screw in. You can also program in your actual odometer reading this must be done in the first 100 mi I believe after that it's to late.. Good luck

I have the have OEM Harley Oil Temperature Gauge that I installed a few years ago.
When I did it I had to install the sending unit in the oil pan as described in the Dakota Digital instructions.
I was hoping the sending units are the same.
I guess if it works I'll be fine if not I'll install the new sending unit.
Thanks to all that replied.
