Hey all, new to the forum. Bought a 2011 RG 103 last month. Ive install Rush True Duals and SE Heavy Breather, and am tuning with tts mastertune. So I put in a canned tune for my bike. I used the 2011 1690 w/ ac and factory 2:1:2 (I know, I got true duals). I setup that map w/ datamaster and a/f to 14.6 and all that stuff. Im having trouble hitting enough blocks to make a good tune. (Too many yellow blocks left). Im not riding real hard or blipping the throttle. Made 2 runs with same results. How are you guys doing your vtune runs? Is there a different map I should start with?

use either dta044-03 or dtq044-03 do the cam selector.
vtunes take a lot of work to fill most of the blocks. it helps if you have an area with no traffic that has long hills that you can roll on the throttle while going up. literally you need to run at every rpm from low to high in every gear. the high map areas you need to be in 5th and 6th gear at 1200 rpm and slowly roll on the throttle. You will also need to ride hard thru the gears from stopped like you were drag racing. It takes time but it is worth it. you need to spend enough time in each rpm throttle position to fill the cellss.

just pull up your cal that you have loaded and go to the table selection drop down and select spark advance front and spark advance rear and as how far as how much to increase them it is a guessing game. Steve Cole recommended increase the entire map 3*(up to 45* do not go above 45 on any cell) do a data collection run and keep going until you start pulling timing and back off the areas that are having timing pulled. n It takes time but is worth it. you have to save this as a new calibration and reload it.

Data collection run? Where is that at? Thinking I can find it.
And how do I see if it starts to pull timing?
I`m guessing to do a comparison between the two maps.

Thanks again!

when you used data master to do the spark data collection, when you stopped it asked you if you wanted to save the data or something to that effect. know go in and open the file up and it review the data. I am at home for at least an hour so call me and I will try and explain it better in person lol

I have a question. What do you do with your pc when you do vtune runs? How do you mount it or carry it, padding etc....? Face

I use an acer netbook aspire 255 and I just wrap it in a soft blanket and put it in my trunk or if I am not using my trunk in the saddlebag. You need to make sure the usb cord is nice and steady/solic or you have issues if it has a poor connection. I some guys put them in backpacks but I could never get the connections to stay when I did that. I never have had an issue in either the saddlebag or tourpack.

I've over 10 V-tunes onmine, each time a do a mod, I capture new info and load into the ECM. first several runs I used a laptop in the saddlebag, after that, since I have access to a dyno, i used that and i can tell you, the V-tune with laptop gets you about 97% of what the dyno can achieve
