I just ordered these speakers , the HSK165XL for my fairing and HCX165 for my lowers based off dbells recommendation. I removed my Sony head unit and put the stock unit back . Will I be ok with this set up and do I run the speakers parallel with my Hawg Wired RS400 amp ??? THANKS

Lol, Tim, who are you referring as to being old? That's basically the set up I have in front, you're going to like it. I think I would keep the Sony, but that's personal preference. Also, you do have Hawgwired grills, right?

Yes I have the grills , how did you cut the hole for the tweeters ? Also I may go to a Alpine head unit , I only use radio and CD(this shows I'm old) any thoughts on a simple to use head unit ?

If you only use the radio and CD player, keep the stock head unit. It is easy to use and with that amp and speakers you should get plenty of quality sound. IMHO.

I love my 149bt, has radio, cd, and much more, since the screen is LCD you can see it a little better in the day than most aftermarket led screens. I'll look to see what size hole saw I used for the grill.

David , I just looked , all I have are the original grills which are kind of thin plastic with cloth over them and hawg wired tweeter grills. Do I need to order a set of Hawg Wired metal grills to mount the tweeters ??? I looked on Hertz web the hole size is 1 13/16" . THANKS , also what did you wire your tweeter to on the crossover , +1, 0 or-1
