A good thing to consider is that even though the bike looks cool without the crash bar you will be glad you have it the first time your bike tips over and it will tip over sometime in the future ;).
Also you won't have anyplace to mount highway pegs and highway pegs come in handy on longer rides.

I had the hells foundry on mine didnt care for them,went with one from Drag Specialties worked great,but missed my highway pegs so put the crash bar back on,what year glide do you have.

Why didnt you like the Hells foundry part?
My RG is a 2010. I have considered that I would lose the highway pegs but dont really use them much.

It seemed to me that the fairing just didnt seem as soild.
