Well I had an issue while installing the "on the road tech" I-pod interface, The destructions say you have to have the HK radio software version 8.25 or higher which previous to 2011 it was not already installed on your head unit. So I followed the H-D instructions on how to update my radio to the most current software which I know you will need for functionality for the I-pod interface but found out while researching my issue with the update it will also fix the stock clock loosing track of time month to month. http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/Genuine_Motor_Accessories/advanced-audio-system.html?WebLogicSession=QrLSDYOzXl3DozA7Ku9gDGYA2zyvbWomVgs2WAE57eiCH7Csjm5L%211429412154%21hiwpbmsp02.ihd.hd%217005%218005&locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US link to the h-d page with the destructions and download for the software, do me a favor and follow the instructions to an T but MAKE SURE YOU DON'T USE WINDOWS BURNER WIZARD the HK radio will not be able to read it. So use an third party software like NERO or Roxio they're are about three hundred different ones on the market I had luck with NERO and make sure to turn your burn speed down to 8X. I am not sure what else this update will fix but it may help I have heard everything from keeping it on the same station you had it on when shutdown as on startup or no more default to AM radio on start up and the clock fix. So good luck and if this helps one person my frustrations weren't for no cause.

Ship it?

Well, I am a mechanic by trade an have been for several years... a few of which I worked for side service shops that made no excuse for over-charging a customer. So this info is available from the manufacturer, and numerous other forums upon the internet. So I thought I would give a useful head's up to all of the members that may not be members of other Harley forums. Call it bad judgment or just doing the right thing... that's how I roll. Keep the tail between your leg's and rubber on the pavements P.s. did you know they're for casting high 30's for the weekend in MN

I'm doing the same mod. My bike is a 2010, so I also had to do the firmware upgrade the other night. I didn't read what all it did since I needed it for the the iPod interface. If this fixes the clock, I will be A. relieved, B. pissed. Really? a 21st century digital clock that sucks worse then any of the ones in my old beater cars?
My experience was the opposite with burning the CD. My Nero made a couple coasters at 8x (slow as it would go) then I did the old drag and drop with explorer and bada bing, success. They all looked good on my PC, but only the one I made with Windows was recognized. No Worries, if your disc is no good, the display will say "verifying DSP", but no progress will be shown. At least no harm is done with a bad disc, as no changes to the firmware occur. Just bail after a minute or so, by turning off the ignition if no progress is displayed.
The fairing comes off this weekend. I can't wait to play with this interface! :)
