I had the dealer install the hogtunes amp and fairing speakers in my 2016 and now I have no radio stations. I check the connections and everything is gravy. Any ideas. I am pissed for 500$ I should be able to use my radio.

The obvious connection to check would be the antenna. Other than that I can't think of any reason you would lose radio stations.

Sorry to tell you bro but your screwed. I have the same setup, have spent money on numerous antennas, shielded wiring and Harley charged me $100 because I took in for warranty twice and they say there is no issue. If I'm within 10 miles of a tower I'm ok. Other than that no AM/FM reception at all. Pisses me off as well.

I don't know what class of amplifier the Hogtunes is, but some Class D amplifiers create interference that will affect your radio reception. Especially if the power supply wire and/or ground for the amplifier is run next to the antenna cable going down the back bone.

if the dealer did it, it's their problem to fix or return to original, only thing i could think to try is maybe a fairing mounted hidden ant.(heard they don't work to good)( i tried the hidden trunk ant. and it would barely pic up anything). but that would at least solve the interference from the power wire problem. you getting no am or fm is what stumps me, most units will pick up am even without an antenna.

Like DE_Glide mentioned, that amp is a Class D amp and will mess with your reception. It is a very common issue among most motorcycle amps, especially the Hogtunes. An internal fairing antenna is NOT going to help with reception (that would only make it worse), but you could try moving the grounding point to see if that helps. If it does, it won't help much unfortunately.

There are only a few motorcycle amps out there that won't mess with your reception (Biketronics amps and Arc Moto 600.4 for example). Not wanting to loose FM was a necessity for me, and thus why I ended up going with Biketronics. Their amazing customer service and lifetime warranty are pretty awesome too.

I can vouch for the Arc Audio 600.4. I do not have the interference with this amplifier, and I am using an in fairing antenna. Previously, I had a Rockford Fostgate amplifier and it killed my reception, even when using ferrite cores over the antenna wire, power supply wire, and ground wire.

Looks like I'll have to return to dealer and tell them to pull that junk out so I can put in a good amp in the bike. Thanks for all the help. I contacted hogtunes and they got right back to me like I did something wrong. But it was one of their guys that installed it at a bike show at the dealer. They offered to ship a shielded wire harness but shit I just had it installed wouldn't they had put that in then?

I had the same issue with a Hogtunes Kit I purchased and installed myself.

They sent me the shielded harness. That helped, I wasn't getting any reception prior.
I use the whip antenna.

The shielded wire harness is shit and doesn't help at all. Just FYI. I had to pay $30 for mine since I wasn't the original owner. That's $30 I wasted.
