Yes, but a real tunner would be much better. The stage 1 is still epa compliant, and will not get ya where ya want to be, but it will add fuel .

You won't necessarily need to tune the bike, but you will want something to enhance your AFR. Personally I'd get a tuner. If you're not looking to spend much you might want to look into something like the Vance and Hines fuel pac, Xieds, or the fuel moto micro.

I was thinking about a PV. just got the bike.its a 2013 with 400 miles so I want to start off in the right direction. Not planning on goin much farther than the dragulas and HD ventilator.

Thats a good idea. A PV or PC-V will work great.

I don't doubt that I will do more in the future. Lol. Does PC-V stay on the bike at all times like a piggy back or do you take it off after you've done your map. Not sure if I want a piggy back.

If you are buying your pipe from Frank you should price a T-Max from him also. His pricing is very good and he offers excellent customer service.

If you just do a exhaust upgrade OR the stage I air intake upgrade the stock ECM should make all the adjustments you need without having the ECM reflashed.
If you do both exhaust and air intakes mods so you have a stage I you can just go to the HD dealer and have your stock ECM reflashed and you will be good.
No real need for a tuner until you go to a stage II by putting in cams.

From my experience, I disagree with Ironmark's comment (no offense). I did a D&D and heavy breather. Had the ECM flashed by the dealer. Then after some research, I ended up ordering a tuner from fuel moto. There was a HUGE difference. I'm not sure I gained power, but the bike runs smother, cleaner, sounds better, better throttle response. Personally was bummed I wasted the money on the stage 1 flash. I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised with my PV tuner. Just my experience.

I was just pointing out that the OP didn't need the tuner for those mods a re-falsh will work. Of course a tuner would be the best way to get the best performance.

LOL! I paid good money to a (so called) professional builder www.kellysperformancespecialists.com to make my bike run like shit!
Now I have to work on the bike myself to get it to run as good as your bike Big Gary.

I've been under the impression that if you do a full exhaust like dragos dragulas an a SE a/c that a stage 1 download from HD wouldn't be enough. I talked to Frank at dragos this morning and bought the dragulas and PV. Hope I made a good choice. Anyone know if this will void warranty on my 2013 FLTRX with 400 miles on it

We have bikes running without a flash, with the hd flash and with a tuner,

When tuned right it does run better and a little cooler.

As far as the warranty goes, it won't affect it.
