Anyone have recent success at a Harley dealer getting their Boombox reflashed to a different flash for an aftermarket amp setup?

My local dealer won't do it unless the Stage Audio stuff is installed. According to reports at the "other" audio forum, Biketronics has developed a flash box that will do the Ultra 4/0 flash. Flash box can be rented with deposit (unsure if it requires additional purchase though).

The Biketronics one does not work on the 2019's according to my conversation with them yesterday. I was trying to get a feel for what kind of response I could potentially get from a dealer.

My local dealer does them for free, no questions asked. If they have a tech available they even do it on a walk in basis. Worst case you have to make an appointment if they’re busy.

Local Indy has the techno research tool and does them for a small fee unless you’re having other work done, than it’s free.

Didn't know that, so thanks for the info. Surely Mike will come up with something soon...........?

My conversation at the local dealer was interesting. At first I asked the guy at the desk (I've known for about 5 years now) and he started to tell me "sure, we can do that, bring the bike in and it will only.................)

That's when his boss walked up and corrected him, telling us both that the Boom gear had to be installed before they would do the flash. I told Rick he was full of sh*& because I knew for a fact that it was technically possible. Our conversation went south from there.

Sounds pretty trouble free and easy to me. When can you come get my bike and bring it to your dealer? >:)

This shit isn't rocket science and I can't understand why so many people make it a science. If I can get a dealer to give me their DT for 20 minutes I can figure it out. I reprogram vehicles all the time, just not bikes, but I wouldn't mind breaking into the business.

The Biketronics flash device worked perfect on my 18, $200 deposit and a $50 rental fee. I think they may only rent them to customers who bought their products but you can call and ask.

I did buy their products. They told me it does not work on the 2019's.

If you google car stereo installers that sell Rockford Fosgate stuff, most of them should be able to flash it. The one that was local to me could.
