Okay, got home from work on Thursday evening and decided that I would change my stock handlebars & speakers. I had studied my service manual and made some notes on the pages to refer to. I had my laptop sitting on my toolbox and used my lift covered with a heavy blanket for sitting my parts on. I took my time and took every step to make sure I didn't scratch or damage anything. I layed big heavy beach towels over the front fender & the gas tank, I had my new bars and speakers and made sure the part number we're correct. I started around 6 pm & finished the entire project by 1 am, like I said I took my time and I would take a short break when things didn't go my way. The speaker install was very easy I went with the J&M 7.25 speaker upgrade with the black grills, I went with the heritage bars in black also. I would say everything went as planned, and I am very happy with the results. I had only two issues in my install, first getting the CVO headlight cover off so I could remove the headlight bucket and second getting the ignition switch lock back in and latched, had to take a beer break both times. Watch the video that someone attached to Donk thread and finally figured it out. I rode the bike the last 3 days and I love it, the bars are so much better and now I can acutally see out of the mirrors. The speaker upgrade is better and I don't need near the volume that I did before. So anyone who is still hesitate about doing this just check out the install section and go for it. Again thanks to all of the members who took the time to document this for the rest of us..

Sounds about right every time I started working on any of the bikes I've had it took much longer than anticipated. My other problem is once I start I can't stop. Good job!

Try the Küryakyn Mirror Extensions on your Heritage bars for Touring. I have the same bar on my RGU and having the extensions made a world of difference.
