I'm starting to laugh at all of the other coments from that "other forum". All of a sudden we aren't so "fuggly" after all. Put a tour-pac, lowers, cb and intercom on one (which I did) and everybody wants one! All the the batwingers are wanting to trade in on one now. I'll be keeping mine for a while, however I wish I had the 103, which might happen one day. By the way admin, I see you have already changed the logo over to an RGU. Looks nice!

Yeah, sat in Jackson a guy traded his Ultra 2 tone 09 or 10 for an new RGU-- that ultra was a very nice looking bike. I think the bike was too heavy for him, the RGU will handle a lot better. Maybe he can speak up if he see's this as to why he traded.

Although it is nice to see that the MOCO is giving the Shark Nose it just due, I do kind of feel that I will no longer have that special, not very common bike. I just hope the RG doesn't become as common place as the bat wings.

If the Ultra was too heavy then the RGU will be also. They weigh the same and basically are now the same bike other than the fairing and badging.

Maybe the "heavy" he was referring to was the steering. All that air that the fairing displaces pushes back just as hard. But in our case, it pushes on the frame, not on the steering.

No kidding. I had gotten used to that exclusivity since I got my 1998 RG. It's changed a lot since then...

Not buying that story lol. I put 80,000 miles on my 04 flhtc and so far 5000 on my RGU and about 10,000 miles a year on a Roadking Police bike and guess what, they all handlevery much the same per model year ie the 09 on up handle better. I agree 100% that if the EG was too heavy the RG will be too. Maybe he just liked the way they look better. lol.

Should we let all the potential newbie's know that in order to be a member of the SSSN they have to pay the initiation fee, take a Shark Nose Etiquette Course and then submit an application to the Skool Board before being a member?

Here is a story about the "weight".

I went into Gateway HD here in St. Louis. I was looking at Hats (God made a few good heads, the rest he covered with hair...). The gal in the Motor Clothes dept. went way beyond helpful, and was trotting out just about every hat they had in XL. We got to talking, and after I finally found one I liked, and that fit, I ended up checking out a '11 RGU. She mentioned her husband just traded in a batwing touring (an Ultra, I believe) on a RGU. She mentioned how much lighter he said it felt, and also mentioned that whenever they go anywhere, all she hears on the intercom is him just "giggling like a girl" about how much lighter it feels.

Anyway, that's my story and I am sticking to it. :D

I beg to dif . I did a fly and ride on a E glide in vegas and It felt like an extra 75 lbs on the handle bars. It was a lot harder to turn going under 5 mph. The road glide is more of a sport touring bike then the batwings.

Maybe the EGC I put 80,000 miles on was different then all the other EGC (04). I have put miles on many different baggers since 1999 and to me they feel the same. YOu would think that after putting 80,000 on my EG and 5000 on my current RGU I would notice a differnce. As solw speed I really call bs. I am a retired (last year) motor officer and ride for hours at crawling speeds. Maybe the bke you rented was set up poorly.
